Forget about the Stones for 4 days, for the first time in 55 years we are in a major final and although the Eyeties will be tough we can and will beat them . COME ON ENGLAND 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

I was 12 the last time we were in a major final! Same age my youngest is now - hopefully that's a good omen...

Wasn't at all sure about the England set up to start off with, but when you read how Southgate has planned things and also what a decent bloke he is, then you can see why things are coming together now. Hope that the final is on BBC, or will have to watch it with the sound off to avoid the awful ITV team. Roy Keane is such a miserable sod, Ian Wright is an over excited puppy and the match commentator a cliche machine. The game is going to be tense enough without all their nonsense. A couple of early England goals would help, given they are very good at parking the bus. Will we see the door mat for free kicks against Maidstone this season and if so, who will it be? Also, who would have been our best ever door mat? Shamir Mullings for me, the only reason to have him on the pitch.

I've had a lot of experience in laying down and being useless, so if the Stones need a veteran door matt (draft excluder?), I am available.

I believe it's on both
I never watch ITV football unless the sound is off. Too much rattle about nowt.
Do I remember correctly that a few year's ago either the Beeb or ITV had a second channel offering an alternative with no commentary, only the noise of the crowd and players. It may have been on satellite (but not Sky - def never subscribed!)

England were lucky to be playing a Denmark team who had overachieved to reach the semis and ran out of steam, we need all players to be on 100% to overcome Italy, the best team by far in the tournament ( IMHO ).

After some pretty decent football at the Euros, National South is going to be a bit of a culture shock...

The Ukraine supporters had some pretty good drumming rhythms - akin to Iceland's accelerated HOOM bellows. Wonder if our drummer can pick those up. Preferably while we win 4-0, not lose.

I went to Italy vs Spain on Tuesday and I'd agree with you Italy have looked incredible at points, but I couldn't believe how poor they were against Spain. Maybe poor is a bit harsh, but they definitely lacked rhythm and width and something I couldn't put my finger on. Just looked a bit toothless. I'd have been dreading that game had I not seen them in person, but I genuinely think we can outplay them on Sunday and win it, which sounds weird as an England fan because it's not often I'm fully convinced by them. The thing is with Italy is they have the same thing Leicester did when they won the league, and that's a unerring determination, a ridiculously high level of team spirit and a few players that can win games out of nowhere (see: the Insigne goal vs Belgium). That said, I think we're in that same realm at the moment, and player for player there aren't many you'd take in slots over the current England squad (Donarumma for Pickford, Verrati for Mount, Chiellini for Stones would be my three MAYBE). It could possibly... just maybe.... hopefully.... be coming home!

I had Italy down as one of the finalists from the beginning, they are one of those sides who can win even when playing badly. I think this England side (and manager) can beat them if everything goes according to plan and we get a bit of luck, but if I was a neutral, I fear I'd probably be backing Italy.
As for TV, not having a licence, I can only watch ITV online (and I'm not even sure that's legal!), so I'm stuck with their appalling 'experts' AND the god-awful, seemingly eternal adverts... But the thing that bugs me most is having to watch online, so the match is always a minute or two behind. So the old 'mute the TV, have the radio commentary instead' thing is impossible. And, worse still, my daughter was on the phone to her friend throughout extra time yesterday, relaying what was happening in real time! I could not get her to shut up!! What is it with women and football???
