Who cares about a dodgy cup result? The season is finished. I just want to hear the owners have a survival plan for months with no income. I don’t even care if that means the budget is reduced even further. It’s now about having a club to watch when all this is over.

I don’t even care if that means the budget is reduced even further. It’s now about having a club to watch when all this is over. There is talk of outdoor sporting activities, especially for children, can resume as early as March so that opens up the possibility of pitch hire again which may bring in a few pennies. I am also wondering about next seasons income as regarding sponsors and advertisers. These people have paid good money for nothing this year ,will the club be morally bound to give them next year free of charge? If the answer to that is no then how many will renew sponsorship? If the answer is yes then our income will be somewhat lower than usual. This could also happen with programme advertisers.

Not to mention season ticket holders. Guess they’ll be offered a credit towards next season?

Not to mention season ticket holders. Guess they’ll be offered a credit towards next season? I would assume many sponsors and season ticket holders will just accept that this was a balls up all round and donate this season's money to the club. That is what I will be doing, however frustrating. Although I hope the club will offer to reimburse money to those who really need it... or offer another incentive (such as a season and a half for the price of one season) to keep its cashflow sound. To be honest, I'd accept a free pie each game next season.

Yes Hak looks absolutely gutted but he is the moron who picks the side and sets them up like a pub outfit going by the last few games. What happened to the likes of Chesmain and Kahn? Seaman such a prospect was absolutely lost against a Ryman side. Amaluzor could destroy a defence on his day but he’s been useless for months. Can’t use Covid or the government grant fiasco as an excuse and the club wanted to continue the season on so can’t be that bad behind the scenes. It’s mind boggling we’re full time elite setup. Is it any wonder 80% of fans on social media want Hak to walk? What do they get up to in training? There are some good players that we have that would walk into any team in this division but don’t seem to look interested in the slightest under Hak. Concerned. Exactly the kind of reaction dealt with so eloquently by Plastic Passion.

We do have a track record of going out of the Trophy with a whimper this list will make you shudder...
Asford Middx Canvey Swindon Supermarine Salisbury Harlow Ashford Middx Halifax Eastleigh Sudbury Bognor Boreham Wood Gateshead Stockport Concord Hornchurch
Halifax probably the only remotely heroic one of those?

Agreed re Higgins, but surely it was obvious that, despite his girth, there was a burst of speed and an eye for goal. Once he'd shown that, we should have been more alert - both on the pitch and from the touchline, but we did neither. Reminds of one of the Tonbridge games when Ben Greenhalgh strolled around midfield, controlling the game without ever being challenged. Had big George been playing, suspect Higgins would have disappeared into the long grass early on. Whatever - who wants to go to Darlington at this time of year anyway... That was probably the home game against Tonbridge last season, where Ben ran riot in the second half and we were lucky to come out of it with a 2 - 2 draw. If there is one player you'd think we should know all about, it would be him! We were told that Hak and the players did a lot of preparation for this game, due to the fact they had nothing else to prepare for - I wonder if that included looking at their individual personnel to see who might be a particular threat, or simply finding out what system Hornchurch play and then training? Given Hak's roots as a manager in Essex I'd find it hard to believe he didn't know who Sam was, and what sort of threat he might pose, before this game.

At one point, the commentator said something like "Maidstone have obviously been preparing for this". Had this been Fred, I would have assumed he was being sarcastic.

Well done to Hornchurch who beat Darlington away today for a place in the semi final.

Interesting. If we had beaten Hornchurch, would we have had to forfeit the chance of a Trophy final?

Hornchurch v Hereford today in FAT final. Arguably could have been Maidstone instead. Oh well ...
