Fair and open election, was it? Hmmm. Actually, by the standards of autocratic regimes, it was pretty good. It's just very biased towards the ruling party. No obvious voter fraud, etc, but the government effectively controls the media, especially the TV, the opposition gets very little chance to put it's case and the general tone of the media is pro-Fidesz (Orbán's party) and anti-opposition. If the opposition can ever get their act together and find a way of reaching the people (or, possibly, if Orbán really fucks up one day), the government could still be changed democratically. So I live in hope. But Orbán has a super-majority, so can change the constitution at any time he fancies. Which he has done in the past, and almost certainly would do again if he felt under threat. And the bottom line is that, whatever Orbán does or says, a large majority of the people vote for him and have done since 2010 - in relatively free elections, in a relatively free society. So, as a democrat, how can I argue against that?

It's hard to know where to go with the news this morning. Teflon coated Johnson continues to get away with being a liar and a cheat, because there's a war in Ukraine it seems. So that's alright then. Clad the Vunt says what he is doing there is 'noble'. And we are supposed to believe that too? Makes you wonder if it isn't a secret plot between the two of them, but then that implies Donald Trump is actually a nice guy after all. Part of me wants to say why don't Ukraine simply blow up the rest of the Donbas/Lukhansk and say to Russia - there you are, you've laid waste to most of it already, you have it, because it is f**k all use to anybody else now. Trouble is, that dishonours all those who have already given up so much and the world needs to know just what Russian forces are doing in their bastard leader's name. I've given up watching the ten o'clock news because it is just such a bad way to go to bed. The morning news is no way to start the day either. What a f**king shambles. At least the wild flowers are splendid this year - even (especially?) the ones struggling to grow through the litter.

BJ says that most of this planned 'export' will be young unattached males. He goes onto state that the same refugees would otherwise burden our schools and hospitals. Silly me for thinking it was children and the elderly who made most use of these public services. Boris, you are such a wanker !

He even had the nerve, when listing Britain's previous Generous and positive migrant/refugee support policies to mention Windrush! Considering the appalling way they were treated by this Government and a far from fit for purpose home office how he has the bare face cheek and can keep a straight face. Still as disconnected with reality as ever! This policy is an appalling disgraceful shameful act of outright populist xenophobia. Nothing less than a National embarrassment this Government

Hard to believe this can happen.
It's the most dispicable bahaviour imaginable.
Just so sickening to think that our government is acting in such a dispassionate and callous manner.

Boris has made plenty of mistakes and misjudgments before and during his appointment as PM. This is def a new low and is not something any decent and right thinking person can support.
