It seems that Priti Patel is the architect if this vile policy.
Totally inhumane and sickening.
Nobody know how many refugees will be 'managed' in this way.
Rhuanda for Gods sake !

I've been derided for two years for pointing out this government is corruption and utter scum.
It's not so funny now!

There is nothing shameful in being a Conservative politician or voter. I've been there myself. But this policy is so wrong at every level. Not what I voted for. It is appalling, it's been done in a hurry and with no compassion. Instead of Priti Patel getting on with helping Ukrainians reach the UK she is prioritising her engrained prejudices against refugees. Disgusting.

I dont accept what you say about the government as a whole being corrupt and scum. But BJ and PP between them seems to fit your description neatly. Getting rid of refugees with a one way ticket to Ruwanda is beyond belief. It's a sad day and not one for political points scoring. More about expressing mans inhumanity to man.

Of course
But in the meantime let us send UK asylum seekers to Rwanda.
This takes punishment of fellow humans to a new level.

I know that there are plenty who won't agree with my sentiments, but I feel proud to be British when so many of my countrymen and women understand, sympathise and offer a safe haven to asylum seekers and refugees. The government announcement today which treats these desperate people as human cargo to be transported thousands of miles away is beyond belief. I guess the attitude is 'out of sight', 'out of mind'. Is this practice any better than the scum who operate as human traffickers? Expect it will be lauded by the Sun/Express/Mail.

For Gods sake, has the World gone mad ? Rwanda with its history of civil war and genocide, terrible human rights record and a known abuse of refugees and asylum seekers. Boris says this new initiative is driven by humanitarian principles and the freedoms that Brexit has given the UK. Sickening!

The president is an Arsenal fan and with 99% of the population voting for him in the last election, is clearly a popular guy. Or maybe any sort of opposition is just not tolerated? See this article: BBC News - UK asylum deal: Is Rwanda a land of safety or fear? www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-61111915 Maybe Clad the Vunt will be setting his sights on the UK next, to do some denazification? Either way, there is something odious and sinister about Pritti Patel, but then within a Cabal that includes Gove, Reece-Mogg and Bojo himself, should we be surprised? Given that this announcement has produced more negative comments on this forum than Brexit, suggests a major mistake! Oh and yes, the Mail and Express certainly seem to favour it if their front pages are anything to go by. The Star, meanwhile does have a go at Patel for suggesting saying sorry means it is alright to break the law - in this case over Partygate. As is the way with politics, this latest announcement is undoubtedly a smokescreen intended to divert attention away from the multiple fines being issued to the high and mighty. Using the war in Ukraine as an excuse to stay on doesn't seem to have had much effect, so here's another tactic. Just bear these things in mind when it comes to voting in the May local elections, people. Giving the Tories a bloody nose is the best way to rattle Westminster cages and if the backlash is strong enough could easily trigger votes of no confidence and a leadership challenge. Don't waste the opportunity!

I wouldn't hold your breath on that last point. Teflon Boris seems immune to any kind of internal conflict. Before Brexit I longed for a united Tory party (anti Brexit of course) but now it's an absolute curse.
