Nice to see your tolerance of others' opinions. We should revisit some of the expert opinion he gave on brexit. None of it ended up true. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well, up yours P&O. There was me thinking a day trip to France might be nice, but not with that company. Shameful treatment of its workers. Where do they think we are - Russia?

The actions of P&O are still illegal, Brexit or not. The company obviously think the price is worth paying. The owners are without any scruples or morals. Shameful !

Did i read that they lost £100 million a year for 2 years yet still managed to pay out dividends to shareholders for £230 million I am no economist but doesn't that suggest that they made £30 million They could have paid the 800 staff £37500 each in salaries as a bonus

A company of the size of P&O Ferries wouldn’t be paying dividends of that size. The group of companies is a different matter. They are part of a group and they probably did the dividends.

I think it's a bit of a grey area because they are a shipping company, so there's uncertainty as to who's laws apply to them - if any. Judging by their decision to ride rough-shod over the 'law' and the lack of comment from the government, I fear they may be able to get away with this. If they'd clearly broken the law, they'd be in court by now. I don't think they would have risked potentially unlimited fines unless they were pretty sure they are not governed by the UK/EU* employment laws. Ayway, it's a nice wake-up call to us all. We've all got used to the regulations imposed by the EU, and this could be a taste of things to come in post-Brexit Britain... (*still the same at the moment)

Has anybody pointed out to Clad the Vunt, that his 'special military operation' is rendering many of the towns and cities he wants to control uninhabitable? We know he is a nasty bastard, but always thought he was a clever one. The way things are going now smacks of rank stupidity. The classic example of power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Will say this now. When ordinary Russians learn of the destruction in Ukraine, it will be blamed on Ukrainians and if he decides to nuke them, it will be a tactical weapon used on a nuclear power station, which will be then likewise blamed on Ukraine as sabotaging one of their own facilities. Appalling how one man can be the source of so much evil.

The devastation left behind by Russian forces beggars belief, but the treatment of civilians is now on a par with what the Nazis did. No doubt Russia will do the usual 'not us' and 'the Ukrainians did it to themselves'. Yeah, right. Only goes to show than man's inhumanity to man has not really improved much over the centuries, especially once the blood lust asserts itself. We know what ordinary Russians are currently being fed by their media, but we can only hope that truth will out and they eventually rise up to rid themselves of their evil regimes once and for all.

Some of the things they have done as they withdraw from Kyiv is stuff from another century

The Telegraph explained today that Russians brought up in the Stalin era were persuaded to self police, because they knew if one resident of a village committed criminal acts against the state (which then was practically anything), the whole village and its population would be destroyed. It looks as if this credo has filtered through the generations, so if one Ukrainian shot at the Russian invaders, the whole area would be wiped out, hence the number of bodies. And this is exactly what the Ukrainians were expecting (because they did the same when part of the Soviet forces invading Afghanistan).

Hardly an excuse though. One wonders how the Russians will pass off the total destruction of Mariopul (obviously the locals did it), using children as human shields (the enemy did it first), plus the laying waste to pretty much everywhere they've been. Presumably, they had a look, saw what the locals did to themselves and decided it wasn't worth staying. It will also be interesting to hear their take on why over four million people have left Ukraine, to become refugees, in the face of what is 'only' a basic military exercise. If Russian is so f**king wonderful, how come Europe isn't queueing up to move there?

The first thing bastard Orbán does after winning another super majority in the Hungarian national elections is have a pop at the Ukrainian president. Closely followed by a congratulatory message from Putin.
Nice one, Hungary.
