Pithy cartoon from Matt on the front page of the Torygraph today. Depicts a government spokesperson announcing that lateral flow tests will be replaced by fortune cookies - get one with 'good health' and you don't need to isolate!

Can't let the latest PMQs go by without comment. Seems even the Tories are waking up the the fact the man they voted in as PM is now a liability who could well cost them their jobs at the next election. Trouble is, who could replace him? Cove the Gunt? IDS? Jacob Grease Monkey? Give me strength!

Ideally he would stay in post until the election as he is surely un-vote-in-able. Would be great to get these crooks out and another bunch of chancers in.
It always gets me how the relatively mundane stuff causes the headline news. Who paid for the decorating of a flat, did they hold a party. Not the real issues and cock ups the government has caused.

All the Boris shenanigans aside, I'll never forgive them for Brexit.

Err I think the majority of the electorate voted brexit, best thing EVER!! About a third of the electorate. Time will tell if it is a good thing. It was never going to be immediately amazing in the UK once we left the EU. In the short term is having mainly negative impact. I still can’t believe we let the general public vote on something so important. Next time you go to Maidstone town centre just imagine that we left this decision in the hands of the people. Really boils my pee. Anyway, this is why I’m not really that confident that Boris wouldn’t win an election tomorrow. People are gullible and would read some meme on Facebook about Starmer being a baby eater, and believe it.

With regards to the previous comment from pwoodstone about the public having the vote on Brexit. it was the public that elected to join in the 1st place,so surely they should decide if we leave or remain. I expect another vote will happen in a few years, but not until many of us have popped our clogs

The UK joined the European Economic Community (the EEC or Common Market) in 1973
A referendum was held in June 1975 whereby the British voters ratified that decision.
In Nov 1993, under the Maastrict Treaty, the EEC became the EC (European Community).
Between then and 2009 the EC & EU(European Union) was virtually the same, however in legal terms the EC was just one third of the EU. In 2009 the EU took over from the EC to became the legal entity that we now know (and love?). Before that several European countries put the vote for further ties (controls?) to their populace but did the UK government? Oh no. Not until 2016 were the British voters given the opportunity to vote on continuing EU membership.
The UK voters were never asked to vote on joining the EU, only the EEC

Does it really matter? When the Germans leave the EU and start marching across Europe singing 3rd time lucky we will be well out of it,then the rest of Europe will all of sudden be clambering to be our best friends AGAIN!

And i think it was more a trade agreement in those days.

I had no objection to the trade thingy, and voted to stay in in 1975, we just weren't asked about changing the organisation into a political behemoth and eroding our sovereignty.

Tstone, you are just splitting,EEC, EU or COMMON MARKET it is the same whatever title you want to give it. I voted against joining whatever year it was,but when the vote went against my preferance I accepted the democratic decision, unlike a number of people on this FOOTBALL forum
