Like nostalgia, it ain't what it used to be. Proof of selfish behaviour is everywhere and blights all the kind, selfless attitudes of the majority. Everything from lorry drivers who insist on blocking two lane dual carriageway while spending five minutes overtaking, to whoever it was blocked the narrow road in my village at 7am this morning, simply because they wouldn't give way. Would have probably cost them all of 30 seconds to wait in the first place, but cost a lot of people a good fifteen minutes while the tangle was sorted out. Little things like the above show why we need to have enforceable rules because there are just too many dickheads around who can't be trusted. If common sense & politeness have to be enforced by rule of law this the end of the civilised world

If common sense & politeness have to be enforced by rule of law this the end of the civilised world I'm not sure common sense or politeness come into it very much. To anyone of even limited intelligence, it should be obvious that protecting others is a natural consequence of protecting yourself, so my only conclusion can be that these people aren't even bright enough to look after their own wellbeing.

Flooding probably ain't getting any better. You are going to wear a mask in enclosed places and socially distance. Why can't the government legislate and/or give advice on these things instead of encouraging a free for all? Because people are intelligent, responsible and prefer to make their own decisions Now stop, Mr T'Stone 😂😂 I'm hoping to be sharing transport and shops with the gadge sticking firecrackers up his bottom. I reckon I'm safe there🤣🤣.... Safer than Downing Street, I guess🤣🤣🤣

Similar behaviour was common at race courses pre the pandemic. I think the incidents at Wembley on the 11th July 2021 will cost this country the opportunity of hosting the 2030 World Cup. ( I know it's a joint bid with Ireland).

First train trip in nearly two years yesterday (nothing to do with 'Freedom Day', just Mrs JDL going stir crazy). Reassured to see most people wearing masks, but there a few idiots - all male (of course) and all but one young. Even on the tube there were a few without masks, although most were following the rules. Again, those without masks were all young.
Coming home, the train was practically empty, but still a few without masks. And one pisshead waving a bottle around and swearing at all and sundry. No sign of any staff, of course. Mrs JDL was on train coming back from work last week and there were a couple of 'lads' without masks, playing loud music and swearing and shouting - but this time, there was a ticket collector. Who did absolutely nothing - even when several passengers asked he to. Not her job, apparently.
Random personal experience, only, of course, but still it puts me off taking the train again unless I really have to.

And first shopping trip since 'Freedom Day' today. Again, pleased to see most people still wearing masks and keeping apart, but a few without masks. And, again, all but one male, and all but one young.
Nearly 100 dead from Covid yesterday, infection rates nearly as high as the peak of the 2nd wave, and over 4,500 in hospital (with the curve now going up alarmingly). And vaccinations slowing down - the 19/7 target missed by a mile...
Still, I guess we all just have to live (or die) with it.

You do realise my downing Street comment was aimed at the fact the PM, Chancellor and Health Secretary have covid don't you. They did, of course, shamelessly try to avoid self-isolation. I think you'd have to be drug addled to still believe they are fit for purpose

Yeah but vaccinations (just ignore how Spain is virtually alongside us in double vaccinations and a variety of EU countries close in and mutter brexit and EMA even though it was never true)

Like many of your "facts", not a fact. Only Javid has it. So which of my facts are not facts then and what number do you mean by many? It would be nice to get an answer unlike the last time you chucked out this bland statement, as though it is a fact.

Most of your facts are actually opinions. What you quote as facts are simply sources that support your arguments. It's strange how equally reputable sources that don't support your arguments are dismissed as lies.
