Watching a recent Mock the Week and I notice that for the sake of Diversity they still have a black woman, a homosexual, an Irishman and someone who went to school in Maidstone. All bases covered.

Regardless of how he is seen as an important figure, was it really necessary for the main TV channels to go completely overboard on coverage? BBC1,2, ITV and even Channel 5 were pretty much continuous from midday and beyond midnight. The beeb even had a reporter doing a feature on flags flying and half mast ffs, while BBC radio still covering little else this morning.
At least BBC 4 covered the women's footy, otherwise minor channel repeats was all that was on offer. One wonders how long they intend to keep it up?

I was amazed - what with Brexit, Johnson's flags and this, I wonder if I've slipped into a parallel universe. This is not the country I grew up in. And worse - I turned to Radio Caroline for some relief and even they were playing continuous 'safe' music with occasional announcements Prince Phillip! Radio Caroline - the original rebel radio station... Radio 4's Now Show, which wasn't broadcast yesterday evening, even had an announcement on today's 'repeat' that it had been recorded before PP's death had been announced. I'm not normally a fan of the Now Show, but I listened closely today to see what they'd included that would have justified that warning. Absolutely nothing. The BBC is running scared of being seen to do anything 'wrong'. |

My crime? When someone was droning on about the People's Princess and how clever she was, I pointed out that she had only got one O level... I'd probably been lynched if I'd said what I really thought of the whole circus. |
