Jury still out on the decision not to go to morning training re players we can attract and club finances. Only time will tell if the club has made the right call. It seems it was a v difficult decision for the owners

Bobby-Joe Taylor is rumoured to be looking for a way out from Dover (who can blame him)and reportedly would love a return to the Gallagher. Wage demands likely to be a big stumbling block.

Facebook group is mentioning that our not so old favourite 'Iniesta' could be in talks too.

No chance with Jack I'm afraid, Hak just doesn't rate him. BJT is different but if Dover can't afford his wages, neither can Stones.

It is about 10 days ago that Hak told us that the club was closing in on a few signings. Chesmain apart, no news is not good news.

Did we hear right ? Did Hak predict a few signings by "this time next week" ? How long ago was that ?

Must admit that my recollection was that Hak sounded fairly bullish about making some signings. Not so Oliver Ash who gave me the impression that the squad could he added to by under 23s and even academy players. If and when the season gets underway, it seems the club could be playing twice a week for most of it. The squad still looks thin in numbers for some key positions, so hopefully the budget will stretch to another 3/4 players. Then on the other hand, where is the money going to come from ?

Unless I missed it somewhere we dont yet know how much money the club has lost in the last 6-12 months. We could be running up a large loss which could take several seasons to recoup so money may be even tighter than you think.

Nothing much to suggest that the club has lost money over the last 12 months, but income was def on a downward trajectory, even before the premature end to the season. If the club did operate at a modest loss, it would have been covered by an increasing loan debt to the owners. More cost cutting has taken place, but if attendances are down to 1,100 ish, hard to imagine how break even can be realised.

I base it on the fact that the last financial statement I remember showed a meagre profit of around £9000 and things hhave definitely got worse since then culminating in 4 months with no income at all. I would be very surprised if we are currently running at a profitable level, though I would be gloriously happy if i am completely wrong. Think though, if we are having worries with our crowds and set up what must it be like for other clubs at this level and below.

Paxman is a frustrating player, loads of talent but too many poor games for me. I wouldn't bother personally. I don't think the club should look backwards at players like Paxman and Worgan. Honestly, we don't need them. There are bound to be loads of unemployed and unhappy players floating around at the moment and Hak can take his pick from a wide net so why even consider former players who are either coming to the end of their careers, or didn't exactly light the place up first time round.
