It seems probable that around 68 points will be needed to get a play off place. That is based on the current points per game average of Dartford and the teams just above them. Maybe a couple less, but just over one and a half points a game over the whole season is about the norm. We currently have 39 from 26 - exactly 1.5 per game - so if we keep going at our present rate, that might, just, be enough, though 63 points is probably too low. We therefore need around 26-29 points from our last 16 games. The counter is ticking and what will be needed is going to change, so here's a thread to go back to and track the run in to the end of the season. Assuming a play off place is what is wanted that is!

At the beginning of the season I predicted we would finish 4th with 69 pts. At the moment we are are 2 pts adrift of my predictions. To get 69 pts we would need to win 10 of our last 16 games and if this squad can remain injury free and no suspensions I believe they could do it. This may need a little more belief in themselves and a little more application but there is no reason why they cannot put the last 26 games aside and have a great run to the finish line.

Oh dear, another of sword's uncannily accurate predictions or is it more likely to be the kiss of death on our play off aspirations ?

We're at that stage where a supporter hopes for the consistency that has been lacking all season to magically materialise and suddenly close the gap above. It could happen, but I don't think it will.

We will need a bit of luck with injuries and players staying fit Centre back worries me with no really quality back up for our first choice pairing. Same could be said for our strikers too, If and it's a big if, everybody stays fit then I think we have enough quality to get over the line with 2/3 points to spare. But sadly the chances are we will loose a couple of key players for crucial matches or a period of matches. Therefore on the balance of probabilities we will fall a little bit short.

Certainly think we are only one booking away from losing Wishart for a game.

Financially, would the powers that be really want us to go back into the national league again so soon?

Financially, would the powers that be really want us to go back into the national league again so soon? Not without a new investor on board.

Financially, would the powers that be really want us to go back into the national league again so soon? I reckon they would yes. Bigger crowds, more BT money, better sponsorship deals, more exposure to investors, better prize money.

I think the trick this season would be to get to the play-offs, which will keep supporters happy (apart from the usual suspects) but just fail to clinch promotion.
