You can gain a reputation in a heartbeat an sadly our younger fans have done just that, it takes an age to try an lose that reputation an sadly we will struggle to lose our reputation, the younger fans are easily provoked an sometimes even start the troubles, sadly lots think they are followers of some high flying ultras, rather than little old Maidstone United from the lower ranks of English Football. I totally agree. I find there loud chanting a near disgrace, I feel it has a very negative impact on the team. Without them the ground would sound near enough like a graveyard, how much would us golden boys in the main stand love that! Peace and quiet ay! As for the swearing and banging around to make an atmosphere well I think the club need to take severe action! I feel like I am walking into the Den not the bloody Gallagher! (The Den is Millwalls stadium, I know most of you would shudder with fear and not touch it with a 15 foot barge pole due to the animal like hooligans) Agree with this. Hopefully when the school holidays are over we’ll find that these individuals can’t make the midweek games at least due to homework/early bed time.

Anyone reading this would think the thread has been taken over by Mail/Express readers who fill in their spare time ringing up the Jeremy Vine show. Bring back hanging, the birch, national service and Brexit! Cut their goolies off too. That will calm them down a bit.

I fear a Venn diagram of those people and football supporters in general would show a large overlap...

Email from Bill telling us old gits in the MS that for most games we'll still be able to use the EE exit and food and drink facilities - and, most important of all, the toilets!
Always a good thing to have an old bloke in charge!

Always a good thing to have an old bloke in charge! A sensible move as most matches won't have may away supporters. Hopefully it will dissuade people from leaving early in order to avoid being trapped at the end of the game; I sit in the front row of the main Stand & it's a real pain with people blocking the view.

Odd that you seem to go to so many games where trouble just happen to break out. Pure coincidence, of course... That's what supporters generally do, go to the games. He is confused because they were away games

That's what supporters generally do, go to the games. He is confused because they were away games just for the record as I know JDL likes his statistics I have visited 499 different grounds across the UK and that takes in 3,137 games since I started counting aged 11 . There were possibly another 100 or so before then.

I also count teams at home rather than grounds (Maidstone and Brighton between them would go from 2 to 8/9/10). I'm sure Moley was on 750 or something. I didn't even realise there were this many grounds...are you watching under 11s games or something?

There are at least 10,000 grounds so we all have a long way to go but my money is on big Brendan to do them all because he has been bitten badly by the groundhopping bug

That's impressive. Updated my footballgroundmap.com list with Hungerford for 124, and I should have a freebie for Newport County for 125 on Saturday.

Very impressive. I don't keep any records or even always buy a programme, so I've no real idea, but from memory, I'm struggling to get above 50!
Not helped by the fact that I tend to keep going back to the same grounds- usually because I like them, but that doesn't account for two visits to Braintree, and multiple times at Priestfield!
Do you ground hoppers count new grounds as extras? For instance my visits to Reading, Yeovil, Dulwich and Dartford have been to both old and new grounds.

I don't otherwise I would be well over 200 by now.

Looking like Concord Rangers at the moment providing we run a coach if not it could be Dorking as I will probably do that one by train.

I don't consider myself as a ground hopper as 90% of the grounds have been with Maidstone, Newcastle or Whitley Bay. The other 10% are just finding games when I am on holidays but I do try to visit as many new places as I can. I never once thought I would get too 400 let alone 500 but I think 600 will be wishful thinking.
