Which is how it finished...
Except that Farnborough now in the play-offs on GD - and Slough up to 10th on goals scored.
Four teams outside the play-offs still in with a chance. Although, on present form, you wouldn't give St Albans much of a chance.

Played a suspended player - very sloppy. I've seen a few ineligible players played (mostly cup-tied or not registered properly), but never a suspended one. Pity it's only a point, though, they'll probably get away with that. Three would have put them right in the shite - especially with their less than sparkling form...

Would be interesting to see previous precedents to judge whether Torquay have been let off lightly due to their club size and precarious position.

They gained a point in the game in question so perhaps that’s why it was a point. Would have been 3 if they’d won? It was Ross Marshall. He’s been sent off a few times too. Could have been a real villain to them if they’d lost a couple more games

Would be interesting to see previous precedents to judge whether Torquay have been let off lightly due to their club size and precarious position. A point for a point, 3 for 3. But "the Board may vary its decision in respect of the points gained in circumstances... where the Board determined that exceptional circumstances exist”. So, they can basically do what they like. "NL Statement - Weymouth Vs Yeovil Town:
An Independent Panel, commissioned by the National League, has met to hear the case of a Member Club who were charged with and alleged breach of League rules. Torquay United Football Club were charged with a breach of League rule 6.9.
Rule 6.9 states: “Any Club found to have played an ineligible Player in a match or matches shall have any points gained from that match or matches deducted from its record, up to a maximum of 12 points, and have levied upon it a fine. The Board may also order that such match or matches be replayed on such terms as are decided by the Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default.
The Board may vary its decision in respect of the points gained in circumstances where: (a) the ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an International Transfer Certificate or (b) where the ineligibility is related to a change in the Player’s status with the Club for whom he is registered or (c) where the Board determined that exceptional circumstances exist”
The findings of the hearing is as follows: The Independent Panel ruled Torquay United Football Club were deemed guilty of one breach of Rule 6.9 for failing to ensure all players were not under suspension prior to participating in a match – therefore fielding an ineligible player.
The Panel concluded that one point gained from the fixture should be deducted from the Club’s record from playing season 2023/24 plus a fine of £750."

Not looking good for Taunton - Torquay 2 up, probably enough to keep them in the NS.
Good to see Eastbourne winning, though. And H&R losing!!
If it stays like this, they'll be desperate to win on Saturday, and a win for us could be doing Aveley of Farnborough a huge favour!

So, nothing changes really. If Taunton win on Thursday it's going to be a very stressful Saturday afternoon for quite a few clubs!
Torquay have H&W at home, so they must have the best chance of staying up. Eastbourne have a nightmare away at Braintree, and Hemel fans must be looking at the table tonight and thinking "WTF??" - as they are away at Taunton on Saturday!
As for us - strictly speaking, it doesn't really matter. But, after Tuesday's performance, for pride alone we'd better be up for it! And if we do win, Farnborough probably have the best chance of making 7th.
An interesting final afternoon coming up...
