Just checked back, and it WAS about football! Hard to believe now... As for nws's comment that the hijacking "started apace with JDL", it was actually OldBoy who first mentioned Brexit. But there you go, tricky chaps, facts... But, on a more important note - what's happened to OldBoy? He was all over this board last year, but hasn't posted since 3 December. Anyone know him offline? It was Oldboy not Shamstone (I think I initially wrote Oldboy elsewhere). I guess the word 'apace' has now been ignored by you to try and get your false claims across. Indeed tricky, those facts. As for democracy, claimed above, note how the election was fought with Johnson strenuously denying checks between NI and rest of UK. www.msn.com/en-gb/news/brexit/eu-confirms-there-will-be-border-checks-inside-uk-under-brexit-deal-contradicting-boris-johnsons-false-claim/ar-BBYX4BK?ocid=spartanntpSo democracy is now state something that is written down as the polar opposite to what you state and then claim democracy. It's little wonder I don't accept it. I'm looking forward to selling a car to Barney only to take his money and deliver a banana and claim it is fair.

What was that ? Sorry shamstone ? Ah yes...sorry for the wrongful accusation and, more importantly, for muddling you up with Oldboy

75,000 crimes by EU nationals go unreported by british police according to the Guardian that I read in the pub. 75,000 or did the police and the guardian newspaper make it up. Surely they are all good as gold and this us pure editorial imagination.

Surely they are all good as gold and this us pure editorial imagination. It is actually that 75,000 convictions of EU nationals are not passed back to the criminal's home country, for fear of damaging the UK's reputation. www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/revealed-uk-concealed-failure-to-alert-eu-over-75000-criminal-convictions/ar-BBYWDTg?li=BBoPWjQNone of us have ever said EU nationals do not contain criminals. By comparison, how many crimes are committed by British people? Total crimes were around 11m. 75,000 is 0.68% of that.

Doubtless many more but seeing as British people are the majority of people living here,I think, then their crime figures should be much higher. I only put the last post up seeing I have been accused many times of being completely wrong of my accusations of certain Eastern Europeans being not so nice people. And before you fly into one I know this includes all EU nations not just those from the East of Europe.

Above you have your answer. It is 0.68%. Not forgetting that your figure is UK-wide while mine is England and Wales only so it is a little less than that. However, you figure is convictions that police have not passed on rather than all crimes. To properly assess you need to deduce the ratio of Brits to EU and then see if crime figures are above or below that ratio. I also don't disagree that certain Europeans are utterly reprehensible. However, I would, likewise, invite you to toddle off down southern Spain and see the filth the UK have exported.

Then why doesnt Spain send them packing? Not that I really want them back in this country. One of the consequences of failure to reach a deal was potentially 3m EU nationals of mainly working age leaving and 1.5m Brits of mainly retirement age returning. I have no axe to grind with older people but that would not auger well for our economy.

Again, democracy, electoral fraud....not exactly bedfellows are they? Whoops...swerve, avoid.... The hijacking started with Shamstone (although that was a little joke) and started apace with JDL, so it is quite apt you point this out to him and I applaud you for doing so. I was good to your title on this occasion and changed the subject to Donald Trump and events in Iran. Sadly, JDL ignored this and brought it back to Brexit again. The reality is that his action and you making sideswipes about democracy reveals the truth. While I am happy to discuss a wide range of issues and have, indeed, moved on, you are both invested in harping on... OK, I'll play your game for a while. This thread was started on 25 June 2019 by barney, with the rather odd opening post of "No Maidstone United posts please.". Despite this request, it turned into a thread discussing football - first attendances, then the old saw of whether or not unused STs are counted as part of attendance figures (including a rare, but much appreciated, admission from DaveU that he had been completely wrong). This football discussion carried on until page 6 (with 10 posts from DaveU, six from me and just one from your good self), until cgr invented the word "Wheelered" (as in ‘to f**k something up in grand style’). Oldboy73 then commented "So Theresa May wheelered us over Brexit!". And thus began our descent into Hell... Four posts later, I popped up with a reply to oldboy that Johnson, Gove, etc had 'Wheelered' him far more than May had. So, guilty as charged, it was all my fault. But as for "apace" - let's see what really happened... In the next page and a half, I post three times more. You, however, posted seven times. And that sets the pattern for the rest of the thread. To date, I have posted 61 more times (out of over 1,340 posts), DaveU (as an example of another frequent poster) has posted 73 times... ... and you have posted 286 times. Quod erat demonstrandum.

For the record, not that it matters in the slightest, the thread was originally titled to match the content, but I changed it after the discussion became derailed.

Barney to be fair many posters on this thread have been derailed for a long time - Some might have concluded they were drowning in the river Medway.

I've just noticed our two most prolific forum contributors are neck and neck on number of posts. Maybe they are using this discussion to get their post counts up.
