Well, they're off and running...
According to Leadsom, brexit voters voted for 500,000 job cuts. Boris has forgotten his pledge to spend savings on the NHS and is now giving it to the wealthy. Raab wants to improve democracy by shutting it down altogether. McVey is still defying the experts and telling us that technology will solve the Irish border question.
Inept or pure lying...you decide

Is it a contest to whom has inbibed the most recreational drugs? More examples of Tory elitism of one rule for the rich and chastisement for the hoi polloi.
BTW @sword Bojo is a complete chancer and makes it up as he goes along (his own office admitted that to me once telling me he doesn't read past the first paragraph of any brief). If it is a roller coaster ride you want......

I think the final two candidates will be Bojo and Hunt.
For those who favour brexit the best candidate isn’t standing in Steve Baker as he was one of the few who didn’t vote for any of Mays deals.
Boris will swing it I feel, particularly in the popular vote because no one else running has the media grab X factor.
When it comes to smearing candidates from the opposite viewpoint you have, it’s six of one half a dozen of the other. Wether your lying to the public about taking us into a war, or claiming uni fees will not rise, all parties aren’t immune.
For what it’s worh think Boris will do a better job then May getting us out of the EU, I think they all know it will be the death of the government and party if they sit on the fence and have a love affair like May did. For Boris it’s all about him, he will want to go down in history books as the PM who took us out.
A leadership contest for Labour might be underway sooner than you think with he and his MPs coming to blows about surprise surprise not dealing with anti semitism. If labour have any sense they will get someone in more middle of the road to win back those lost voters to Lib Dem’s/the brexit party because the cult of Corbyn and the lefty milkshake brigade are also doing a good job of killing off the party

I like a good rollercoaster ride but with the Tory candidates you may as well put all their names on the bottom of individual rubber ducks and get a blind 4year old to pick one with a fishing rod . I was just thinking about having Wiggy and Bono on opposite sides of the pond going for the prized Pratt of the year award it would be a close run contest.

Interesting and entertaining right up to the point he has knackered the country for his own selfish interests. Yes.

I have to say that I feel the LibDems were unfairly maligned with a variety of things when they were a minority partner in a coalition. I think voters are seeing them as a much more sensible proposition to try and stop this madness. For what it's worth, I think Boris will find a way to stop the roller-coaster ride and Brexit because while he is self-interested he isn't stupid and it's only people with fingers in their ears, highly groomable people and racists that are supporting this now. Boris will try and get a deal and when he doesn't he will leep us in but say the EU made it impossible to leave. That way he saves face and keeps us in the best position we can be in. He knows that taking us out will make him deeply unpopular with half the electorate and his popularity with the other half will wane when it all starts to go wrong. Corbyn has aksed the right questions but the whole semitism thing has not been dealt with at all and you have to wonder why. I also don't think he necessarily comes up with the right answers. The Semitism issue and reading a book called Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth pushed me away from him. Brexit party voters seem to be mostly 55+ angry men who want to hark back to a war time they were never in. Anyone under 55 voting for them needs to think about what they are doing with their life (apart from potentially destroying it to enrich Nigel Farage et al).

To basically summarise those who support leave as idiots or racists is frankly offensive and ignorant in itself. If I said the “loony left” are all jobless tree hugging students who don’t have any life experience and are told what to believe and in then attack (physically) those who are different to them, I’d be wrong, because that’s a generalisation. I wouldn’t say the country has radically changed its view from 2016 either, for all the drum banging by Lib Dem’s it was still a fairly similar result to the referendum, if you particularly look at it of parties official positions, I’m not going to mention the manifesto lie anymore Labour banded around. And if we used to the current voting form for a GE the Brexit party would have won. Peterborough was an interesting one and a curtain raiser to what would happen if a GE happened now, particularly in the North. Labour clung on but lost a massive vote share, as did the Tories. Lib Dem’s and Greens didn’t really tear up trees (no pun intended!) I think once we know who the leader is, and probably by the time the season starts we can have a better indication where this is going to go.

Lib Dem’s and Greens didn’t really tear up trees (no pun intended!) I think once we know who the leader is, and probably by the time the season starts we can have a better indication where this is going to go. It would be ignorant and offensive to present all leave voters as stupid or racist. However, I didn't so I'm not quite sure why you have replied to my post in such a way. You attack the 'loony left' all you like. They are called the loony left for a reason and their actions of milkshake throwing are no less pathetic than the racists on the right who physically attack people although less harmful. Votes for clear brexit supporting parties in the EU elections was 35%. Votes for clear anti brexit parties was 40%. I'll claim that as a resounding victory and start whining about respecting the will of the people. Actually, I am surprised that you are not coy about the EU elections given that leave told us there was no democracy in the EU. If you wish to talk about a real lack of democracy I do believe we are about to get a Prime Minister nobody has voted for who is going to potentially take us out of Europe without a deal. Imagine the outrage of those leave voters that voted for sunlit uplands, a great deal and us holding all the cArds. Apparently, those of us that remember those promises or, indeed, have video footage of them are lying because we were all told that leavING meant dire times. They now point towards a leaflet by some guy called Cameron as explaining this and this is what they voted for. I could have sworn he was rooting for remain and they labelled his wittering as Project Fear. Luckily, Andrea Leadsom was on hand this week to reassure us that people did indeed vote for job losses based on Cameron's leaflet. The biggest laugh should still be retained for the bus and its £350m for the NHS. Not only was the figure a lie but now it appears that defender of anti-elitism, Boris Johnson, wants - if undemocratically becoming PM - to spend the dosh on tax cuts for well off people. Sorry, Mrs Miggins, no cataract operation with the brexit dividend as Tarquin needs a new Ferrari. For some dark humour (literally) shall we have a chuckle at ol' Nige's poster with all brown people on it telling us that we need to leave the EU because we were at breaking point. Released just a few hours before a right wing nut job shot Jo Cox, this poster was in no way racist because of the amount of EU countries predominantly populated by brown people. Ol' nige has also made some fun comments about people speaking foreign on trains, not living next door to Romanians and the M4 being packed due to foreigners. With such a racist outlook it's lucky he has nothing to do with that new Brexit Party or that ol' UKIP lot that we were continually told weren't racist but now include Stephen Yaxley Lennon in their midst. I have been thinking about the leave campaign with its electoral fraud issues abd provable lies. Lucky nobody is asking to respect anything they have achieve. Phew! I see Ester McVey is running for PM. She's great she knows all about this great technology that will solve the Irish border issue. Not even the experts know about it. How cool is that? Of course she is still outraged by the backstop issue even though her technology would solve it. Still she can flip flop between positions if she wants. Piecing all this together most would have to believe you'd be stupid and/or racist to still be believing these people and their ever changing story. I think there is a third category of people that are working on an emotion and ignoring fact, no matter how much it is presented, just sticking their fingers in their ears. Strangely, these people can only ever hear the words racist and stupid when I present the three categories. That, I guess, is a delicious irony all of its own.

I wish someone would bring up Boris and his ability to squander tax payer money. How many more water cannon white elephants could he buy as Prime Minister
What was it about his character that made him withdraw from the last leadership contest again...
Wouldn't dream of suggesting he is manifestly unfit for office

I will now retire to Dunny-on-the-wold and grow turnips.
