Where is Lord Sutch when we need him The strange thing about the Monster Raving Loony party is if you look at their manifestos from the early days (which were dismissed at the time as madness), just about all their policies have since become reality. Voting at 18 was one of them, from memory. In my Tesco home shopping days, I used to deliver to the then leader of the party (he lived in New Ash Green or Vigo - one of those places - after a while they all merge together!). He was unexpectedly serious about his politics, not at all what you would expect. Dressed up for the counts, he looked every inch MRL, but in his civies, he was just an ordinary bloke, and quite serious. At the time, some of his party had broken away and formed a new MRL faction (the 'True Loonies', or some such). I laughed when he told me this, but he was seriously pissed off with them. Even the MRL turn out to be weird.

There were the head line grabbing items such as nappy's for dogs but as you say a lot of what he campaigned for is a reality a far better track record then many politicians ever manage
