The problem is this team has too many players who can play well 1 or 2 times out of ten , poorly 5 times out of ten and mediocre 3 or 4 times out of ten.
It's why we do so well in cup competitions.
Also Muldoon / Paxman / Powell / Taylor are all very similar type players to render us soft when 3 of them are in the starting line up.
Phillips looks disheartened lately and not 100% comfortable as a right back.
Wishart is good going forward but for an experienced left back gets caught out of position far too much , particularly under the high ball.
The forward line are individuals who never gel and Embrey is a young player who is playing at 3 levels higher than what he was used to so must be given time next year to adapt.
Turgott is only now beginning to show signs of recovering his pre-injury form. Richards doesn't look fit enough to play 2 consecutive matches - his bravery and Lewington's stupidity caused his injury. Also his corners after Powell went off were very poor. Lamentable.
Romaine runs around like a headless chicken - he has no composure in front of goal.
Justin was trying too hard when he came on - probably trying to show the Braintree fan's they were foolish to taunt him.
Davies was a nervous wreck today.
After the penalty HH seemed resigned to defeat. He hardly stood up in the dugout in the second half.
Swaine was our best player by a mile.
That performance cannot be allowed to continue next season.
We need a coherent team , that play to a plan and for a motivated management team.
This cannot continue.

Good post Sennockian apart from the reference to Paxman who has gone to join a circus.
Thing about Phillips is that our management team don't appear to rate him in midfield (hence maybe disheartened)
which I must admit is surprising given the alternatives on show
and I agree he just isn't a full back and has played too much there out of position.

Finally, analysis of why we were crap today (most of which I agree with) rather than over reacting BS Too many (most)of the players look great for only 20% of the time, and as we well know, that ends with relegation Steve, I agree, we will see a mass clear out and then HH & JS can be judged on results and performances

Not saying it was anywhere near good enough today but lets remember just how bad things were.
A few months ago going one down meant an automatic loss, no longer
We have one three home league matches all season, deplorable, but HH has 2, Jay and Harry one between them
Blair Turgott was a long term injury, the one player we have that really does deserve to play higher next season
Braintree weren't the worst we have seen this season, leaving aside Dover Youth, that accolade rests squarely with Macclesfield Town

Was the beach ball going around the Genco today a metaphor for players attitudes at this stage of our season?

Not really a rant moley.
On a day when negativity and moaning has reached new depths,
your critical but qualified comments almost appeared to be amber tinted

Wishart had a fair match but no better and probably worth signing againNo, no, no, NO!
Watch him attempt to clear danger - and attempt is usually the correct word.
Defensively, as in stopping attacks he's not bad, although he does seem to give anyone hugging the touchline acres of room but that seems to be the "modern way". but getting rid of the ball his preferred methods appear to be either a) beat the player and then turn back into trouble or b) wait until he's closed down such that putting it out for a throw is his best hope.
Sorry to interject on your agony. But that is just so accurate, and its strange how things never change. Thats exactly how he was at Forest Green 3 years ago .The only slightly weird thing is that at FGR a few used to say-use your pace Dan and take him on.Confused the heck out of me, as whilst no slouch, hardly the quickest player in non league .

So wolvestone, you are hoping that our owners who have invested in JS2/HH for next season will cut their losses and run for the hills. Unless you have around £6,000,000 going spare that you wish to invest in our club, I'm guessing that your words will fall on deaf ears. Must admit today was worrying, seeing our players strolling around pre match, whilst Braintree were having a proper work out. Just seemed to go sleep-walking into the match and this time it didn't get any better. Hakan claims that he's seen plenty of improvement during his time with the club, but I'm not able to find a single supporter who agrees with that view. Whatever happens, I can't see more than a handful of players being retained for next season. But unlike wolvestone, I have a lot more faith, hope and charity in our current management team and will be purchasing an early bird season ticket next week. I have already purchased our early bird season tickets, not an issue with me. I'm sure the owners will stay, I've never said they should do otherwise. Perhaps, instead of holding a "Player of the Season" award there should be a "Manager of the Season" award. HH/JS shouldn't bank on my vote. Perhaps they've inherited players from previous regimes, but they've done nothing but demoralise them and throttle any form of tactical play. Get rid before it's too late.

Haven't you all noticed yet, this team is desperate to get the wooden spoon and a goal difference of minus 100. Roll on next season, new team, new tactics new hope. Pie hut is a definate sign up,

The look on TC's face in the clubhouse afterwards means I might just put 50p on a double sacking come next Saturday. If looks could kill I think JS2 &HH may well of died if they were there.

Sorry sword but you are totally misreading the signals. There is 0% chance of John and Hakan being fired. 0% and no more. Understand and get over it.
Happy to hear HH's post match interview. He didn't try to hide the fact that he is fed up with the players and their lack of hunger and effort. Cannot wait to get rid of this season's flops and start rebuilding again with players who want to wear the club's colours with pride.
