I think the thing I found hardest listening to it was his treatment when he was hoofed out. Sadly the way this seasons gone I do look at BW and the owners in a different light despite all they’ve done.

I have always said they must carry as much blame for this seasons failings as all the managers an players involved.

For someone who’s given as much to Maidstone as Jay, to hear him basically say he was barely given the time of day to thank him, and allow him to have a goodbye is fairly appalling. I imagine Jay said what we all knew, in that more money was needed for more staff, better players and that rubbed them up the wrong way, and it was only when others came in they probably knew he was right so the purse strings were loosened a bit.

What we do know is that the heart and soul of the club left with Jay. The stewarding and policing of games now, the awful players signed, the bullshit of Harry Wheeler etc mean John and HH have a tough job. I feel more disconnected with Maidstone United than at any time since I started watching the club in the early 80s.
NLS could be just what we need for therapy.
John Still is a Maidstone legend too and he understands what has happened and what needs to happen - including bringing in more local players

Great listen and a bittersweet one. I was gutted when Jay left and it’s a shame he had to.
We have to move on though!!
Some interesting stuff but just nice to listen to Jay speak about some of our best moments.
Remembering the playoff final still gives me goosebumps. I remember at 2-1 convincing myself that we were expecting to win and that I didn’t really mind the loss.

I liked the part where he said about receiving a text saying "thanks for all your effort".
It's just like when you receive a letter with your P45 after you have been made redundant, with the words thank you for all your hard work", and you think to yourself "if they were that pleased why have they got rid of me!?"

that's ok sword, I get bored halfway through your posts too. whatever you think, it's pretty obvious that the clown managed to undo so much of what had been achieved by Jay and Nicky. what a waste, what a shambles, what a shame ! got to feel for the guy, not given the support for a personal contract, academy work, goal-keeping coach, scouting network, video analysis etc
same old Jay Saunders, no bull-shit, great communicator, still comes over as very genuine, honest and in touch with how supporters really feel we miss you mate !

So after listening to a very enlightening interview, where do you think the Stones would have finished if either Jay, Harry or the John/Hakan partnership had taken the team through the whole 2018 -19 season from beginning to end.
For me Jay would have finished 18th; Harry 24th; John and Hakan 14th.

We have to trust in them for next year but they have given no evidence of their ability so far which is worrying. Listening to Jay and HH is also worrying. I can see us having very mixed fortunes next year and certainly no guarantee of even a play off place but of course I hope the miracle recruitments from all the JS scouting proves me wrong!

I've always thought that the release clause in Pig's contract was set way too low. Interesting to see that JS didn't know there was a release clause at all and whilst it may not be the manager's job to discuss contracts in this day and age, I'd have hoped that the club management would make sure that realistic numbers for this eventuality are used.

Please don't get me wrong as I just hate interviews. It could be the most fascinating man on the planet and I would probably switch it off after 30 minutes . I love reading books but I steer clear of autobiographies unless it is really someone I like because I get bored so easily.

So you keep saying, over and over again. But what you're forgetting is that JS2 and HH have had to cope in the main with the squad (if you can call it that) assembled (in the loosest sense of the word) by HW. Given a chance to build a squad in their own image I expect them to be challenging for promotion next season.
