A certain Darryl mcmahon is out of a job, ebbsfeet played nice football under him, I hope harry can turn it around, long way to go, doesn't look good though, 10 plus wins needed, can't see it myself If he wasn't good enough for Ebbsfleet why would he be any better for us. It would be the equivalent of bringing Jay back. Now there's a thought!

Fleet fans I know were just as dubious of McMahon as some were here of JS. If we are to survive and indeed prosper at this level, then the gamble is either stick with Harry (and risk going down), or change sooner rather than later. There is a cost to both. Go down and player wise, we are restructuring again, as few will want to stay. Change managers and there are contractual issues to pay for. Given that immediate promotion back again is certainly no gimme, one wonders where T&O stand on the business model? Is the club as sustainable in the NS? Possibly, but one assumes player budgets must be lower. Could we still afford to be full time, for example? As fans, we just don't know, but having scaled the heights, I wonder if the owners want to risk going down again? Harry's problem is not that form has been patchy under his stewardship, it has been poor and when you look at what is served up at the likes of Dover, Bromley, Solihull, even Havant and you have to wonder, why can't we have that? Even Maidenhead, who shipped a shitload of goals recently, still manage to win the odd game, while we get sod all. Bad luck? There's been plenty. Silly mistakes too, but in the last couple of YEARS, when have we ever looked like a team that could average 1.5 points a game on a regular basis? All very disappointing.

Having just read Harry's comments on the Barrow game he feels sorry for Worner as one mistake cost us the game a game that Worner made several brilliant saves that kept us in the game. KEPT US IN THE GAME to me that says we were getting well beaten by a better team and yet Harry is still happy with the efforts. Do we really need to get hammered before he wakes up to the situation.

If you want to know a bit more, look at the Ebbsfleet forum. Very similar concerns to those expressed on here about Jay. Considering how much money they had, did he really do that great a job?.

He did get them to the playoffs, weve been relegation threatened for 3 seasons, i think this season we are serious contenders for the drop, unless it can be turned around

I’m as frustrated as anyone, not just with the results, but more with the style of play. The Stones Live guys called it on Saturday - our tactics were flawed.
Harry has had a few weeks to play Champ Manager. He’s got rid, he’s brought in.....the next few weeks should see this current group of players start to gel and play as a team. They are good enough as individuals. Harry needs to make them a team. If he can’t, he shouldn’t be here. Simples.

Just a little illustration of the pickle we are in:
At exactly the half-way point, we need 31 points from 23 games (assuming 50 is safe) - that's 1.35 p/g.
Under Harry so far we've only managed 0.9 p/g.
But, if you're generous and take only Harry's best bit of the season (from Turgott's (ahem) penalty at Braintree to before the wheels came off at H&W), we averaged 1.3 p/g, which is just enough to reach 49/50 by the end of the season.
So, to stay up, we have to play as well as we did in our best spell under Harry, consistently for the rest of the season. And then pray that 49/50 is enough, and that it doesn't come down to GD.
To put this in perspective, that is the sort of form Eastleigh are currently producing.
And for every game we lose, while the team is 'gelling', this task gets harder.

Really? Then why are we so holier than thou about clubs like Billerricay, Ebbsfleet, and Dover. If what you say is true, we're no different. We are very different. We have a sustainable business model...good crowds (revenue)..other income (3g). Dover had fewer than 1000 yesterday and are full-time. When Jim leaves ....oh dear Dover fan here, I've been reading with interest how your and of course our season has been panning out.. You are of course correct in pointing out that we had under an under 1000 gate yesterday. I would go as far to say that for a wet Saturday afternoon that wasn't actually too bad. Believe me, if Chris Kinnear was still at the helm we would have struggled to get a gate of 800. Traditionally we never have been a well supported club - be it geography, the armchair fans or our location to France perhaps we will never know? I will however say one thing Jim Parmenter made the right choice in appointing an experienced manager in Andy Hessenthaler. Yes he and his fellow directors have pumped a serious amount of their personal funds into Dover becoming a full time outfit. Dover fans are under no illusion in the fact that gates are not funding this investment. But the most important thing is that we maintain our National League status, I'm sure the same applies to Stones fans? No matter how gutty being at the foot of the table may be? We all have a rivalry amongst the Kent clubs but surely we want to be playing these local derbies for years to come? In my opinion, and it is only that, your chairmen made a big mistake in appoint Wheeler-Dealer. It was a rash decision and an experienced National League/EFL manager was what was needed, but you don't need me to tell you that. So please don't tell me if Mr Parmenter leaves it's oh dear because the same applies to nearly all non league clubs across the land, they are funded by men and women who will never likely see a return on their investment. It's all about making the correct decision and we are only human after all. Good luck with the rest of the season See you boxing day and New year's day and hopefully the next

But I will thank Harry for Stuart Lewis - one word Immense I'll give Harry his due on this one, it wasn't him who actually wanted rid of Lewis. It was one of your lot who tapped him up and he suddenly requested a move. How that whole situation went about still don't sit right with me.

I honestly do enjoy the rivalry between us and at the end of the day it would be nice to see us both stay up. Have you seen the North/South divide these days?!! Anyway, good luck and as I say I look forward to the Christmas and New year games

It was one of your lot who tapped him up and he suddenly requested a move. I can quite believe that. I was under the impression that he was unsettled as soon as Jay Saunders left. I'm sure he will be the pro he is in the coming games with you, he did after all have some great years with you. One thing a member on here stated was that Jay Saunders was a victim of his own success. That sums it up perfectly.
