Sorry, but for me, calling somebody a nonce us just as bad as racially abusing them. Disgusting from their fans, the perpetrators should be banned.

Read page 9 on NLP - I think Nathan has had enough of this at clubs in our league.

I don't think we're too bad for this kind of thing. There is usually a shout of keeepaaah as he arrives, which is met with a smile; maybe the odd silly comment. Only exception I remember was some kid on the receiving end during a reserve game. Maybe it's because we have such full stands with mixed fans. I remember Mr Ash asking someone to cut it out, because he had a child with him.

Calling the thread "Unjustified Abuse ?" implies that "Justified Abuse" is acceptable. Is it?

So the chairman of BWFC does not like any slagging off or abuse at his club , is this the same man who slagged off Maidstone fans in his programme notes a couple of seasons back?

Calling the thread "Unjustified Abuse ?" implies that "Justified Abuse" is acceptable. Is it? No it probably isn't, no abuse at all is gold standard, but the thread needed a hook, so I went for that to try to stimulate people. I mean, 4 replies and 60 odd views in the graveyard section, it's riches

You're probably correct. Middle aged memory syndrome.

Is abuse ever justified ? I was running the line once as a sub in a Sunday League game when I was on the end of a ten minute tirade of abuse from some idiot on the other team in front of an eight year old boy. I hadn't even made a controversial decision. I tried to reason with him, and I tried to get the ref to intervene - the ref told me to "grow up". The subsequent abuse I gave the ref (I called him a "f***ing disgrace" and the original abuser (I told him to go back down whichever hole he'd crawled out of) was entirely justified.

Is this the same 'cosmopolitan North London & South Herts' Boreham Wood whose chairman was accused of assaulting 3 women in a restaurant?

To be fair, I remember back to Chelmsford away in 2016 (I think) where we got played off the park and lost 3-0 (I swear Chelmsford were our Bromley-esquqe bogie team for a while...). People were giving their keeper, a young guy of only 23 or 24, absolute dogs abuse for 70 or so minutes, and when they scored the third he turned round and celebrated to us. For the last part of the game he got volleyed with "you're going home in an f**king ambulance" and "we'll see you in the car park". Stuff about his mum, stuff about being redheaded, you name it. I literally messaged him on twitter on the way home because some of the stuff was genuinely disgusting.
I'm not saying one is worse than the other, or anything of the kind, but it is safe to say there are some people who think they can say whatever they want at a football stadium and get away with it. I definitely don't blame Goalie's for reacting.
