It's Jackson Browne's fault that the meaning changed - Great song bye the way.

Most money invested into football clubs goes in as director loans. If the directors who are owed the money decide to call their loan(s) in and the club cannot pay, in theory the club will have to be liquidated and all assets sold to cover as much of the debt as possible. Fortunately, Maidstone United is partly protected from this possible outcome because the Holdings Ltd company is the one that owes, in theory, Oliver and Terry their money. The worst that could theoretically happen is that they call in their loans and we lose the ground, but the football club and anything it personally owns would not be touched. I don't know how Ebbsfleet are set up but, if it is just one business running everything, theoretically the Dr will be owed millions. It would of course be incredibly cynical and low for him to call that debt in so let's hope he wouldn't do that. I am 99% certain that our owners would never do it because they are about as genuine as football directors come, as opposed to someone who invested to win local hearts and minds in order to improve his chances of building a ruddy great theme park nearby that now looks as though it probably won't happen. Just a quick message for the (two people I believe) who started sounding off about boring posts. I skimmed your posts and got the gist of your views. If you find the posts by myself or others boring, don't read them, or just read a couple of lines to get the general point and then move on. Nobody forces you to read them. Use your scroll bar. The point is that 99.9% of the time I don't find you or anyone else boring but pages of financial advice is boring. This is not tbe place to talk about it but yes you are doing so in answer to something that is pure speculation about another football club so it is vaguely acceptable. Nobody knows what is going on at Stonebridge Road and I am sure a majority of people don't care. Did G&N care when we went tits up I doubt it very much. Everything I have said about the pension situation has been based on the players own statement. I presume that is fact and not speculation. The only bit I got slightly wrong, after re-reading the KO article, is that they stated nothing has been paid into their pension schemes since June 2018, therefore it is not correct to think the problem might go back further than that. Everything else I've said that may or may not be true has had statements like "if indeed that is the case" added. If you really believe what's being said is 'pure speculation' then I assume you think the players are lying?

If the players are not lying then I think they are weak as no other employees that I know of would wait 6 months to bring it to peoples attention. Unfortunately I can no longer work but when I did if I hadn't been paid or someone messed about with my pension then the general managers office would need a new door after I kicked the original off it's hinges and I would have it sorted there and then. If what they say is true why have they sat back for so long and took it? what are The players union doing about it? Are they in the players union? The club apparently seems to be in breach of their contracts so why don't the players just stop playing until it is sorted out? I think everyone will agree that they are being shat on from a great height and the Dr is getting away with it because the players are weak and its only going to get worse unless they start to fight back immediately.

You normally get a pension statement once a year. So unless you have reason to believe there's a problem and investigate, there's absolutely no way you'd know that the deductions shown on your payslip haven't been paid unless the fund administrator contacts you.

If these stories about the pensions being deducted from the players wages but not paid into there funds are true then the club are guilty of making illegal deductions from there wages. I cannot understand two things about this story, 1. If this is true then why wait until they get an interview with the local press to discuss it. 2ND Why carry on playing if all this is happening. Surely it is better to leave the club now, or maybe the power of the pound is keeping them there, maybe they realise most of them would have to take a pay cut to get into other clubs.

Actually, the players (via Daryl McMahon) did go public about the wages situation way back in October - see the link below. There is an inference in their new press release that they have only very recently been made aware the pension contributions have not been made. As the wage payments were late but made eventually, that's probably why they stayed around. None of us know whether the players have been complaining about their situation to the management and directors, and if they have, how they've gone about that. To try and guess would be exactly the sort of speculation some are saying they don't want us to get into. Sticking with the facts, here is that link to the October article: www.kentonline.co.uk/gravesend/sport/fleet-wages-late-again-mcmahon-speaks-out-192157/

Its all right sticking together and fighting for the club and the fans but the fans are not going to put food on their tables or pay their bills its time to say enough is enough. If this was to ever happen at this club I for one would back any action the players would take against the owners including strike action because it is just so bang out of order.. I assume that their players are full time and so should be part of the players union and if this has been going on since at least October then I would want my union to take decisive action on my behalf or I would want my contributions back

Maybe they will do something now as they've clearly had enough.

Reading the Ebbsfleet forum, attitudes are hardening against those running the club.

They will soon start to be starry-eyed about Reg Varney soon and he knew little about the spirit of non-league football as his treatment of Stones fans in the play-off final tells you.

Reading the Ebbsfleet forum, attitudes are hardening against those running the club. And we thought we had problems! Hey, if the Fleet get relegated to NLS for financial irregularities, does that mean there will be one less relegation spot in NL for us? If so, I think we should all bombard the ombudsman and NL management to bring the Fleet to heel!
