Jay had a proven record at keeping us up, he deserved at least the time and resources Harry has had. He didn't do well with his summer signings, I think we all agree with that, but he should have been given the chance to turn that round. Whatever he managed couldn't have been as bad as this. It was bad. That’s why he went. The problem is. It’s still bad It wasn't that bad - certainly not as bad as this. I think there was more going on behind the scenes than we know - something between Terry anf Jay that had been brewing over the summer. So, I suspect that the decisions wasn't made entirely on football/financial grounds.

Listening to his post game interview he sounded like someone who's totally run out of ideas. He clearly has run out of ideas. The team reflected his touchline demeanor... Not interested and no ideas! We need a manager who gives good interviews.

Not for me - we hardly won a game in Jay’s last 12 months and that wasn’t changing, we just should have appointed a proven conference manager not a rookie Jay had a proven record at keeping us up, he deserved at least the time and resources Harry has had. I’m not convinced that the summers signings were Jays

Got any evidence for that?
I'd love it to be true, for many reasons.

And who is your reliable source that Bill has been the real Manager??? Sounds far fetched to me but there has been an air of mystery and behind the scenes darkness at MUFC for too long now. The fans deserve the truth to be out, however difficult, and start 2019 afresh with a new manager, new honesty and a club we all can love again.

Truly shocking if true ! At the end of the day the weakness of those new summer signings and the performances that followed were the main reason for Jay's dismissal. But surely too far fetched to believe Bill may have been the guiding hand behind their recruitment. Selecting the players and sorting the detail of contracts are very different. Given the freedom that Harry Wheeler has been given to spread his net and recruit who he wants it seems unlikely that this 'reliable source' could be credible.

My understanding was that Jay would say who he wanted and it was then down to Bill to try and make it happen. So technically he was indeed responsible for all signings and negotiations, but only after the players had been identified by Jay.

Which was a change to previous seasons, I wonder how many of the list provided by Jay were actually signed, not a lot I guess, anyway we digress we are now stuck with HW who seems to be able to identify and sign players as he likes, which has worked out really well so far

It all started well enough, with Jay being very decisive, but then thre were weeks of nothing much happening, followed by the very dodgy last-minute signings. We didn't have enough players to field a decent team right up to the pre-seasons. I can't believe that Jay, left to himself, would have allowed that to happen. Perhaps there was a board meeting where they decided that Jay needed a little 'help' this time round? What could possibly go wrong?
