"For NWS. Anything I post is my opinion unless I specifically state it as fact." I shouldn't need to point out to a supposedly intelligent person that asking a question cannot be an opinion. However, since I clearly can't trust your assessment of your own intellect I shall edit my profile to make the message clearer.

Nicely spread out as well - should be able to identify each one! What a strange game - felt like a practice match they'd let a few fans in to watch. Must be bloody depressing being one of these ex-League sides fallen on hard times - big stadiums, small crowds. Still, they must enjoy their visits to the JWW... Taking nothing away from Worgan, he was never really under any pressure. Even that close-range shot he tipped over early on, he was totally in control. Pigott's really looking good these days, he's not just grown into his role, he's made it himself - the amount of work he does is fantastic. And so good to see both Prestedge and Lewis in the side - to my mind those two coming in was the key to our survival last year (without ignoring the contributions from the other new players), we always play better with both of them in the team. Hopefully, that's our 'blip' over - Orient will be a different game altogether, but I'm looking forward to it much more than I was a few days ago!

Incidentally, another reference to the narrowness of our pitch on SL on Sunday, this time from Pigott himself. He says it makes it much easier for visiting teams to play defensively, and it sounded like he was putting it forward as the main reason why we do so much better away.
No doubt this will be ridiculed, but I wonder if we could put that extra land on the riverside to better use by widening the pitch instead of building on it? (Or maybe do both?)

I was one of the 23!! In fact, I took the missus for only her 3rd ever game!! As for the match, Torquay were pretty terrible. It was difficult to choose a man of the match but you should consider that Worgan had a good shout with some excellent saves. A quick comment on Collins who came on for the last 10 minutes - he looked really good. Hopefully, he'll get a start soon. Torquay can't have been that bad if Worgan could have been man of the match with some excellent saves Congrats on being one of the 23 though. I think this match needs to be in the hall of fame with Lydd away and Halifax away as barometers of supporter bragging rights Just pointing out that we were not perfect. However, I would probably give mom to Pigs.

For me my MOTM was Anderson, he came into the squad to fill the gap left by Mills and to some it was mission impossible yet he has gone about it in a very professional manner and grown in confidence, and hopefully will kick on in the 2nd half of the season an get better and better, and yes I was part of the travelling few.

I have a lot of time for Anderson. Not as quick as Tom but also not as horrendously one footed. Tom often had to rely on his speed and some strange looking leg contortions to get him into position to play the ball with his good foot. Joe seems to be at least relatively comfortable with his wrong foot.

Interesting selection of views of MOTM. I gave it to Lewis but could easily have been Pigs or Prestedge.
Thought Anderson had a better game on Saturday than his recent performances which I feel had dropped a level. Someone a few games ago, probably before the league game at Torquay, suggested that we didn't miss Mills which I couldn't disagree with at the time but haven't been so sure since then. Hopefully its just been a blip and he's back to his best again.

Didn't we deliberately make the pitch narrower when the 3G was replaced?
Does anyone actually know (and will tell us here) how wide our current pitch is and what the permissible maximum is?

Quick calculation. Penalty area is 44yards wide (2 x 18) + 8 The dashes marking 10 yards from the corner arc (11 yards from the touchline) look to be at least a yard outside the penalty area so it's at least 12 yards from the penalty area to the touchline. So it must be at least 44 + (2 * 12) = 68 yards wide. Not sure what the maximum is for our level, minimum is 64 yards. The notional maximum is 100 yards provided it is less than the length. The FA's recommended pitch size is 110 x 70.

But, if your calculations are correct, we're only a couple of yards less than the recommended width - which is only a JDL, and slightly less that a DaveU or an nws...

I think internationally they are measured in metres, the penalty spot for example is 11 metres and the minimum pitch length is 90 metres. Not quite sure how to react that you think I'm equal to an NWS and slightly more than a JDL

And I've heard "not quite as tall as nws" used by several people when discussing someone's height! In Hungary, a penalty is known as a "tizenegy", which is Hungarian for 'eleven'. (pronounced 'tease-en-edge', not 'tiz-en-eggy'!)

However, since I clearly can't trust your assessment of your own intellect I shall edit my profile to make the message clearer. So now we are back to square one. If you post something that is grammatically presented to appear as a fact I can now complain about it again. As for insulting my intellect...how am I supposed to work out when you are presenting something as a fact or an opinion when you post them in exactly the same way? Surely an intelligent person would make the differentiation for the reader. I have a great idea that means we could avoid all of this. Write posts that are clear to the reader.
