The writing was in the wall a while ago but to sack your experienced manager at the behest of a new owner that then pulled out and to put a novice in charge of very important games, is showing that we badly need some football knowledge at the top of this club. Hak was clearly the problem. Where we went wrong was waiting too long to get someone new in. It was clear he'd lost the team and could do no more from at least late October. But no disagreement with your final conclusion. The thing is, presumably it's Bill who ultimately makes/influences these sorts of decisions, and he has a fantastic amount of experience. So why do we keep getting it wrong? I think Hak was one of the major problems for sure. I just don’t get the decision to sack him and not have a follow up plan. It was all last minute. If Hak is to be believed (and I take his word with a pinch of salt as he would have been pissed off) then he was the man to take us forward into the new era but then found himself sacked. If you’re going to sack Hak, have a plan. I am sure we will hear that hundreds have applied and yet here we are with George as manager. Terrific man but just a novice. Why do we keep on getting it so wrong. If the owners are to stay for now they need to employ a football man to run the business and (with the greatest of respects) not Bill or John Still.

If FWP's predicted final table is to be believed, we need 47 to stay up - so that's 26 points in 16 games. So far, we have managed just 21 points in 30 games - and none at all in the last nine. FWP have us finishing on 28 - where the hell do they think those extra 7 points are coming from?? We will win 3 or 4 then the pressure is off.

Same situation as when Jay got sacked. We had no plan and ended up with a clown. Down to the owners as they are the ones who should make a plan

Can't even be bothered to moan anymore. We were relegated weeks ago, really. Going to games now really is purely for socialising and visiting the pie man - absolutely no chance we'll enjoy much football this season.

I will be genuinely sad to watch this team ripped up, we wasted the chance this promotion got us. Turns out a lot was going on behind the scenes but buck stops with lack of investment.
= Poor recruitment, not improving on starters. = Sacking staff without replacement = Losing volunteers = Poor communication between club and fans, due to staff losses and increased workload for others = Players unable to voice concerns to anyone at the club about dressing room behaviour = Club culture that took years to build up again, straight in the toilet?
Feel free to point out if I missed some.
Where do we go from here?
New NLS manager has to be comfortable with a further reduced budget, as they cannot be unsupported by staff members, and it is all out the same pot.
What I have learned from this year is a polite reminder that we will not invest under any circumstances, beyond club earnings. So without a cup run, the budget cannot increase, and we cannot afford to play at NL level.
There will be a bigger sense of dread if we somehow find ourselves in a potential promotion position again, because this is not going to change.

We are 24th in the league but i doubt very much our budget is the 24th lowest in the NL We are unlikely to get all of the recruitment right. After that event, there has been plenty of time to chop and change but the sad reality is we couldn’t afford to bring in enough clear starters over the NLS squad.

Sympathy and pity to the travelling faithful. Listening to Stoneslive, seems clear that: - we were crap - the officials were crap - Torquay were just as crap, but we have them a goal anyway
Sides will relish playing us and somebody is going to have to have a really bad day for us to get any more points by the end of the season. Sadly, seems George has no more idea of how we play than Hak did. He might be a good motivator, but you need more than that in this league.

Facebook wankers out in force again tonight. Incapable of debate, just resort to insulting anyone who doesn't agree with them.

To improve the team during the first half of the season, we sacked staff that were important in support of our previously successful setup. This is a short-term decision and goes against everything the club claims to stand for.
It’s just one part of it. But with more investment, we did have a chance to address the rot before it spread.
I really hope we have a hard look at the setup and invest in the staff again, we can’t approach next season with as few resources that George has at this time. Build from the ground up.
