Don't be surprised if this joint appeal falls on deaf ears. There is still a deep-rooted prejudice against 3G within the realms of the Football League and FA hierarchy. Not to mention almost every ex-pro who is now a pundit on TV, who express an opinion with all the objectivity of ignorance. ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png) Most of whom played during the QPR/Luton/Oldham/Preston era and do not wish to see any sort of return to those days. News for these guys is, neither do we. Current 3G pitches are an advance from the 1980s comparable to the difference between the latest Ferrari and a Penny Farthing. We really need to call them out as irrationally prejudiced, and I mean you Jermaine Jenas amongst many others. If what these morons do say about 3G is true, then why is this thread full of folk who have taken the trouble to form their opinions based on experience with no threads so far against 3G?

You cannot always get common sense or lose ignorance. The threat of losing an expensive court case is often the only way. Probably why the NL relented. They did not have a leg to stand on...the EFL's lawyers will probably give the same advice.

Indeed, and another indication that the legal route will be used if necessary. In civil law, if you want to sue somebody / an organisation, you must offer them the chance of arbitration beforehand. I think it's significant that the three clubs have chosen to ask the FL for a conference on 3G now because, if they refuse, that in itself could be seen as the first stage towards legal action. If they agree to the conference and still refuse to allow 3G afterwards, that would also constitute a failure to agree terms prior to possible legal action.

It would be good if the current 3G clubs had a PR drive, particularly the financial benefits to lower dIvision EFL clubs. We need to be selling the benefits as much as threatening legal action.

"Doswell is blunt about the end game: ‘This will go legal because there’s some people with quite serious money behind them who will invest in the QCs and barristers to take the fight all the way.’"
Does he mean 3g supporters or opponents? If opponents, why would anyone piss away a fortune to stop 3G - what's in it for them?

It would also be good if there were press releases every time there was kids training session and charity matches, stating such things are made possible by a top quality pitch being available.

Did anyone else notice that Scotland's World Cup qualifier against Lithuania last night was held on a 3G pitch? As England's previous game in Lithuania was also. If 3G is good enough for FIFA should it not be good enough for the EFL?

If 3G is good enough for FIFA should it not be good enough for the EFL? I think we should start a campaign to get the proper old plastic pitches back. Flipain eck they were great 😀

I took that to mean 3G supporters - a group of people including the respective club chairmen, directors and pitch manufacturers working together is my guess.

I think the biggest problem you have is that 3G is awful. Just awful. Like watching football on a trampoline.
Also, the EFL are duty-bound to attempt to create a level playing field for their members, and your artificially completely level playing field is not as level a playing field as a good, old-fashioned rutted mud bath.

That's what this Forum needs - more irony !
