How lovely to hear about a victory at long last. Looking forward to Solihull away (although it will obviously get cancelled!) Games very rarely get cancelled. I believe you meant to say 'postponed'. Although you will now, no doubt, come up wth a cock and bull story about how you did actually mean to say cancelled, and that I am on the receiving end of a hilarious whoosh. I did. I was referring to standing there for ten mins only for the ref call it off. Games don't get cancelled if they have not started. Fixtures do.

Thought the Torquay fans made some noise, and were pretty good humoured. You must have been near a different group to me They were a bit fickle, even by our standards!

Both our goals, a pretty untidy bit of control but then somehow a goalbound shot. Like the Eastleigh victory, this could have gone the other way!

Fixtures don't get cancelled unless there is no expectation of them being played at a later date. The correct word however you want to dress it up is "postponed".

This will probably be the only post I put on here. I have been an avid Torquay supporter for 54 years now and was at the match on Saturday having travelled up from Devon. I just want to say how impressed I was with Maidstone. There was a 'greeter' who was very helpful, the fans were great and looking around the ground you can see the bright future. It is excellent that you are back home in the town and in the centre at that, a really nice location. Plenty of room for expansion. In the evening the girlfriend and I went into the town and were surprised at how many were wearing the clubs colours. Mind you it is really chilly up north so the scarves were out in abundance. All the fans I met were friendly and were appreciative I had made the trip. One thing I would ask you to bear in mind, the disabled and special needs supporters should be thought of first in any stadium upgrade/expansion. I have been involved in raising money for the disabled and special needs supporters at Torquay United as the roof of the new stand (2011) didn't provide cover for the area they are allocated and unlike all the able bodied supporters, they got soaking wet every time it rained. You deserved to win and I really hope you stay up, I think you are going to be a league club before long, it seems you have got it right. A lovely club with a great atmosphere and community feel to it. Well done.

Nice to hear from you Sam and glad that you enjoyed your day out. Funny hearing about Maidstone as being "up north" lol

I must admit, to my shame, I have no idea what disabled and/or wheelchair provision we have. I have seen someone in a wheelchair on the river side. I think there is a cutaway at the bottom of the new stand that might accommodate wheelchairs. Some clubs do commentaries for those who are visually impaired. Can anyone enlighten me what facilities we offer for various disabilities?

Nice one Sam. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Just to answer your concerns about disabled supporters, there will be reserved places for disabled and their carers in the new stand, as there already are in the main stand. The places in the new stand also mean that disabled away supporters will be able to sit with their own supporters when games are segregated which unfortunately isn't the case at the moment.

Dear Daveu, That is good to hear. I don't think it was intentional at Plainmoor, just not enough thought went in to it. My view is the disabled and special needs are indeed special supporters. No one makes more effort to attend a match. Get them sorted first and then us able bodied. I can tell you that all the Torquay supporters I spoke to thought Maidstone was a great trip. I made it a weekend of culture in visiting the Flowerpot before the game and then next day went to Leeds Castle. The only low point was that the girlfriend threw a strop because we couldn't find our way out of the maze.

One of the unexpected bonuses of supporting a non-league side is hearing from other team's fans. Whether that's on here or on social media. I love that kind of camaraderie. It's something special and I hope we never lose it. In fact I'd like more of it. It's a forum positive. And boy has this place needed it! Thanks Sam
