As long as it brings us up to the 4,000 capacity, who cares whether it will be the full width of the pitch? The most important thing is that it maximises the ground space it does stand on. Going forward, if we have real ambitions to get to the FL, that is important because building a 5 - 6,000 capacity stadium is possible but the site is quite tight. Using height is vital and the new stand does that.

I find performances better away from home as I feel there is less pressure on the players I may be wrong but I think this is the case.

It certainly looks the full width of the pitch, but it may be a metre or two less.
But that's 'pitch', not ground, so it wouldn't include corners anyway. I think it will be a few seasons yet before we start to worry about filling in corners!
And, if memory serves, the floodlight poles are right by the boundary fence, as near to the pitch as they can get, so I don't see how they would affect the building of a stand that is some way behind the pitch boundary.
Of course, I might be wrong - that faint possibility does exist.

Went past again this morning and something like a quarter to a third of the rear steelwork is now in place - looks even more impressive.
As a ST holder sat at the arse end of the main stand (roughly on the first down slope of the 'M'), it will be very nice to have some company at our end of the pitch again!

And you can even go there Sunday for your roast dinner at a cost of £12.50 per person, and get a tour of your lovely stand shouldn't that be our lovely stand? It would only be "our" lovely stand if I shared JDL passion for the new stand, however I do not, hence why I quoted "your" lovely stand.

It's not the whole width of the pitch .Or has this changed . Remember seeing the intial drawings, and corners were to be added at a later development stage Conference has always been division 5 no higher no less . I've loved the away days this season ,hated home games we've played our worst football at the gally, I hate the them and us attitude at home ..Homes games have been a poor experience so far the ground looks a mess ,we know why ,and the atmosphere lacks I think there's too much paranoia at home games Technically, yes, this is division 5 (or League 3 in newspeak), but anyone who saw us in the old Conference and Div 4 will tell you that the standard of football and the ambition of the clubs is way above the old Conference. In fact, I don't remember many Div 4 teams who were as good as most NL clubs. We came straight out of the Conference and missed automatic promotion to Div 3 by just two points. And, although we were a pretty good side, we weren't that good (we were chased to the title right to the end and had a dodgy start in Div 4). No newly promoted side in the NL is going to do that these days.

Talking of Whitehawk did you see they've got Dulwich in the FA Trophy. The 2 right-on fan groups get to meet.

Just back from taking a look. It's going to be impressive and should enhance the atmosphere in the ground. I think I'll be switching back to standing next season. Nice to meet ob1 who was also having a look.

It will always be the Alliance Premier League in my mind. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979%E2%80%9380_Alliance_Premier_League only 2 sides from its 1st season are in this season's National League. Us and... I'd have taken a while to guess the other one (would have guessed Macclesfield Sutton or Southport) Back on topic unusually for me - the virtual images of the new stand clearly show it's not much wider than the penalty area, but like Jayser I don't see any problem with that.

What is most reliable virtual images or JDL's first hand observation ? Probably the virtual image Almost certainly! I was getting excited - easily done at my age... I never meant my 'report' to be taken so literally. I really meant it wasn't one of those little stands you see so often in non-league football where they've just put in enough seats to meet the grading. It's a proper stand that LOOKS LIKE it goes the full width of the pitch. It might well be a few metres short, Maybe at the next supporters meeting Big Mick or Frenchstone (or PMH?) could ask Terry or Oliver why they didn't build it properly?
