Grew up near the Blue Door. It had a very bad reputation, although not as bad as the other local, the Park Wood Tavern. As I reached my late teens I was much more likely to be found in town, firstly The Eagle and then later the Royal Albion, or even occasionally The Cock at Boughton before it became a poncy restaurant.

The Albion (or the 'Bin', as it was known) was a very dodgy pub back in the day. I nearly got beaten up twice in there - without ever doing anything wrong! |

The dance school was called something like The Margaret Reedy School of Dance. According to Mrs JDL, who knows her dance schools, it taught ballroom, etc, rather that the usual ballet/tap/street/whatever. |

I passed the bull in East Farleigh on the way to pembury hospital for my post foot operation check up in a hospital paid for taxi yesterday and it still appeared closed

My wife knows her through her work as a Marriage Celebrant and told me she's hoping to sell it as a going concern, so hopefully will carry as a venue and events centre |
