And Rochdale were the last league team we beat before Stevenage (2.1 at Spotland 7/4/1992) I was there that night - I remember the odd looks from our support at my mixed Kent/Yorkshire accent It was the ferret that caused the odd look

Sorry chaps, I've been trying to look on the Dave side of this all evening, but whichever way you look at it, this is a crap draw.
What do you want in a first round draw? Someone beatable at home? Someone unbeatable but a big name to draw the crowds and TV - and maybe, just maybe a draw and a replay at theirs with half a 20,000+ gate...
What do we get? A nothing club (who even knew what league Rochdale were in before the draw?) two divisions above us and currently on fire (won their last six games).
The positives? Well, we're in the first round, we're at home, and it shouldn't be that difficult to get tickets...
And, yes, I do know that 10 years ago we got thrashed by Trebor Sharps under-11s ladies and a ploughed field in the middle of nowhere, with only nws and his dog in attendance.

This draw is like Yeovil part 2 .
But..
I've found something inspiring Stevenage and Yeovil are non league clubs Wrexham are a league club that suffer non league at the moment . Rochdale are a proper league club.
This will make me get excited about this game . When are tickets on sale ?

The draw could have been a lot worse though. Imagine Eastleigh away, or Barrow, or Whitehawk.....
Also on the plus side - as far as TV coverage goes - the BBC can't show Salford bl00dy City every round this season ...... and BT Sport will have to continue their love-in with Tranmere Rovers for league matches only !

Eastleigh v Swindon must be on TV as they got furthest last season ..I'd be surprised if it's our game ,the red button option is probably our best chance . It would be great if it was televised ,but I don't think there's any chance of a giant killing here..let's hope BBC want to show a game on 3g live in an FA Cup game for the first time .

Wasn't the last time we played at Rochdale when one Stones fan climbed over the fence, invaded the pitch and started hurling abuse at Nicky Johns? He was then led away and spent the rest of the match watching it from the police lookout tower in the corner of the ground.

Wonder what they think of us. Non league team they've vaguely heard of from the past, playing in a crap stadium at the other end of the country, but a nice easy win and progression to the next round..

Shows how far we've come that some fans are disappointed we have drawn a league one club in the FA Cup. Personally I think it's an exciting draw and a winnable match.

How BBB are some people getting, complaining about getting a league one club in the first round draw. It's a decent draw, not the best, but certainly not bad and should attract a full house. And in response to an earlier comment, I would suggest that anyone who didn't know what division Rochdale are in doesn't know much about football.

It's the worse possible draw for the club in terms of getting money for the new stand.

You mean worse than if we'd got Eastleigh or Daggers away?

I agree it's great we're playing a League One side, but in that breath I would have loved a Wimbledon or, to be fair, a lot of the League 2 teams (Wycombe, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Leyton Orient, etc.). Not the worst, but certainly not the best.
As I say, I'll be in Poland that date unfortunately. Instead of seeing Rochdale at home, I'll be at Polonia Warszawa vs Kotwica KoĊobrzeg in the Polish 3rd tier. A tasty fixture, i'm sure you'll all agree...
