A Home match against a League 1 Side, we will be underdogs with nothing to lose. Hard to see how the draw could have been much better. 50% of the gate money plus all the ancillary sales will be a sizeable sum but I expect that we will also be receiving the Prize Money then on to the next round.

Nothing to do with bbb, this is a terrible draw nothing decent about it ,unless it's selected as one of the live matches ,which is unlikely, then the game would have a silver lining it's bad from a football point of things in that they are flying ...we're playing rubbish, yes I know it's a cup game ,stones home form is very poor. its twice as hard than against a stuggling Yeovil who only had 7 first teamers fit,and bought kids in . But still managed a professional job on us . For the club it's not a decent draw ,they don't usually travel to the south with more than 250 ,I think we will struggle to sell out. Fingers crossed for TV selection ,but I'd guess it's the red button at best . Someone needs to tweet the beeb,it's about time they showed an FA cup game live on 3g..so go for it BBC . BT have shown us live so keep up.

I'm struggling to see how keeping just half the gate money of a game that might not even sell out is a bonus...

It's not even half the gate money . It's half the gate money after match day expenses ...eg security and there coach travel . Gets worse !

It's just another football match in a long line of football matches. Go enjoy it and have a shout. Whine on here if we lose and if we win then...whine on here.
JDL - Thanks for the expression 'the Dave side of life' I think there is a Town End chant in there somewhere. I am disappointed not to be involved in your extra-curricular viewing though.

Might not be a full house but should be fairly close (in my opinion) and could have been a lot worse when you look at who we could have been drawn against. Yes OK the Club's net revenue for the game will be somewhat less than 50% but that's true whoever we were drawn against and could have been a lot worse in financial terms. We are at Home, we have a great chance of getting through to the next round, I can't see that there many other possible home or away games that would have bettered this. I'm sure that Jay & the Club are just happy to have a Home game. I'm also sure that the Club will have budgetted to go out in the previous round as any sensibly run Football Club would do so just getting to this Round is a bonus.

Make the most of this game, enjoy it for what it is, 'the magic of the cup' and if and when we go through to the next round we can all get back to what we do on here best and moan about the ticket allocation. Ebbsfleet seems so long ago.............

Seems to me that there would be plusses and minuses to whoever came out of the hat (or was it a bucket?)! Having read through their forum there are plenty that seem up for a trip down south and a jolly good natured bunch they seem too. While I obviously am hoping for a banana skin moment, and some cash for the stand - I also think it's important to show away fans a good time. And it'd be good to think that starts here on the forum. We don't want to put them off before they've even set foot in the JWW! That's not good for the cashflow!
Then, if they go away and tell others what a good place it is to come, whether that be in person, on social media or on fan forums - then that will encourage others to come in future, spending more. It's all about the positivity people!

Ebbsfleet seems so long ago............. That's a good point - out of the FAC in the 1st round, no KSC final, our usual record in the Trophy, no playoff games... A whole season without moaning about ticket allocation! How will we cope??

Yes it was a seriously weird post by sunnystone - must be a newcomer doesn't seem to fit into this forum at all comfortably lacking in all the sarcasm and dross with which we have become too familiar

To the tune of Monty Pythons "Always look on the bright side of life" Always look on the Dave side of life If life seems jolly rotten, There's something the main stands forgotten! And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing Always look on the Dave side of life

I don't really see anyone being BBB
No offence to Rochdale, but if we're gonna draw some team we have very little chance of beating, id rather it be team like Charlton, Gills or Pompey away so it would be a bigger crowd and pretty much a shoo-in to be a TV game
Like wise if Rochdale got to round 3 and drew someone like Huddersfield or Norwich. They would be disappointed they didn't get one of the Premier League big boys
