Makes no sense, you can only really build up two sides of that ground as you have residential housing you would've thought that he woudl have been looking for a close to town piece of land to purchase to develop into a bigger stadium, as lets face it regardless of if it's sustainable or not he is going to chuck money at Dorking to get them as high up the football pyramid as he possibly can.

I was under the impression that plans for a new ground had been underway for some time, and that, with their promotion, they were expecting to get the new ground built asap. As you say, there's no real point in expanding Meadowbank, it will never be fit for EFL. So, if he buys it, presumably that will be with selling it again in mind - to fund the building of a new ground. But who would he sell it too? The only way to make any decent money out of selling a football ground, is to sell it for housing, or retail, or similar - which is exactly what so many owners have done in the past. And, reading between the lines, exactly what MVDC fear will happen too. What he's doing with Dorking is every fan's dream, so good on him. But a brief glance through the history of such things would indicate that, more often than not, that dream turns into a nightmare (one we know only too well). How deep are his pockets?

Depends on his plans and how ambitious he is. Meadow bank could be a training complex for the future!

I was in Dorking recently again for work and had an hour or so to kill before my train home so strolled up past Meadow Bank. As an investment for the future, it's surely wise as it's so close to the town - a very desirable town at that! It's lovely now, but as a commuter hub it's only going to become more desirable so maybe buying that leisure centre they call a stadium is a wise investment.

No good for a NL/EFL standard ground though. And think what any football stadium sized piece of land in that area is going to cost...

David Smith from Bromley to Hornchurch on loan for 3 months. Ha ha ha Wondered what happened to this guy. According to Hornchurch's website: 2 goals in 8 appearances, before returning to Bromley when his loan ended on Saturday. Received as many yellow cards as he scored goals. What does he do now? Not getting into Bromley's team I'd imagine and hardly pulled up tree's on loan.

Send him on loan to Folkestone,he might just keep them up. Coming to us on loan actually makes sense for him and Bromley I thought, but probably not for us - we need a striker but it seems Bromley secured themselves a player not quite up to this standard.

Dont want a player who stabbed us in the back fir the sake of few extra pounds. I hope his career nosedive into oblivion, greedy c$%t

Slightly strong swordy, but I agree with the direction of your sentiments. Def doesn't deserve another chance with the Stones. Please Hak, don't be tempted.

Smithy had his chance with Stones.
He's proper blown it.
Don't care where he goes as long as it is not to us.

From what I heard, Smith let Hak down and reneged on a verbal agreement.
There should be no way back for him.

Disagree. Young people do silly things and have their heads turned. There should always be room for forgiveness.
