The lad who went in goal after their keeper was injured was Grant Basey. I caught him for a quick word during their post match warm down I asked if he was related to the brilliant Phil Basey, the Welsh Wizard who scored a lot of goals for us at London Rd in the early 70's...and indeed he his, Phil is Grants uncle, whom he'd seen as recently as this morning I remember watching Phil as a 12 year old with my dad, i think it was he and that side that sparked my love of football all those years ago

The 'project' people behind the Town End were handing out single pieces of a jigsaw (yeah, I know it sounds bizarre). I happened to be standing within earshot whilst they explained why they were doing this to some fans, twice - but I remain none the wiser.
As for the game - it was pretty crap. We were better in the second half, but, had VCD been a half-decent side (this report flatters them), we would have been stuffed. The pass from Parkinson was class, though. Flisher gets the accolades for converting it into a goal, but the pass itself was a thing of joy and wonder (unfortunately, just about the only moment to fall anywhere near that category in the whole game).
The beardy bloke was quite amusing though.

Dreadful first half against better oppo we would have gone one or two down much improved after break Bodders unlucky not to score and flishers introduction gave us the ammo to gun them down.what a player he is this season.quality performances on a regular basis. Great crowd to with no away support.

Looks to be one and the same, also had spells at Brentford, Barnet, Charlton and Peterborough, plus Wales u-21s

I can only dream of having a beard like that. That was a tremendous piece of face furniture.
