I loved that side. Never realised Deacon was playing for them. Did it ever get mentioned that our winner was offside?

Yes, on a regular basis, but wasn’t it better that way than waiting three minutes or more for a VAR check? My view is that the onfield decision should stand unless VAR can identify an infringement within 30 seconds - simples!

My view is that the onfield decision should stand unless VAR can identify an infringement within 30 seconds - simples! It was a tight one and strangely not one Stevenage player appealed. On TV it looked like the Lino was bang in line and possibly would have flagged if they’d appealed.

I've stated before on this forum that I'm of the opinion that the lino was unsighted as to who's was the scoring header & assumed that it was Flisher's (meaning that Frannie never became actively involved) or thought that Alex got a touch on the ball (a flick-on), thus meaning that Frannie's retreat to an onside position now became valid reason not to flag when he, Frannie, did become actively involved.

Surely it was a lone gunman and no one was firing from the grassy knole.

Interesting thread. Rather shocking that they have no backup supply for safety lights, tannoy, etc (I trust we have!). Several thousand people milling about in and around a football stadium in complete darkness is a disaster waiting to happen. They were very lucky to get away with it. I can't believe that EFL rules don't cover this sort of thing (or just plain, ordinary, health and safety laws), so I would expect Stevenage to get (at least) fined for this. And, if the Cambridge fans' references to their ground as "tinpot" and "nonleague" are accurate, how on Earth they expect to cope with Championship crowds is beyond me.
