Big all ticket games are new to the club unless the system is water tight it will always be open for abuse. There was no way with the system Saturday any one could ensure people wasn't able to buy multiple tickets with around a thousand tickets sold in 90 minutes. If there a will there a way I hope the club listens. just under 700, in just over 1hr.... Iam quite sure how nearly1200 were sold prior to general sale ?

I don't want to be disrespectful to the older supporters, but you need to move on, the current set up is all about taking Maidstone through the leagues to their rightful position, whether that be Conference or the Football league, the owners have ploughed a shed load of money into the club and I think it's quite crass for people to say the club have let them down, no they haven't you have let yourselves down by not paying £15 to join the supporters club, we all realise the ground is too small for the big games and the only way to get guaranteed tickets is either buy a season ticket or join the supporters club, it's simple really Or... dont pay the £15 or get a season ticket, dont get a ticket, sulk like a five year old for ten mins, kick the cat, then ring stevenage fc get three tickets payed for on my credit card, franticly ring work and tell them theres a funeral that you need to go to on tuesday you had forgotten about thats in stevenage. ( blag for private use of the van and a days leave) go get said tickets. Buzz all wednesday and thursday then go game thursday sing shout and stones win. Plan how. To get round mrs for wrexham!!!

I know some people had geniue reasons not to make the allocated time slots, but how many people decided to stay in the pub and go to the ground at there normal time on match day knowing full well demand was going to be high , if they really wanted a ticket the would have got to ground before midday and queued in the rain.

Exactly and with their being a lot of season tickets holders and fan club members, you would have to be pretty silly not realise their wasn't going to be many general sale tickets available and they were going to sell out quickly.

Kept my powder dry on this one to date but think it's time we reached a conclusion on this now and started looking forward to Thursday (and Tuesday!). Let's bring this to a close:
1) Let's not fall out amongst ourselves about tickets that's madness. Those that followed the club in the years of playing in the kent league DO deserve some respect. They loved the club we all love now when not many people did. Remember without them it would be unlikely we'd be arguing over tickets. We're all fans of the same team and we would do well to remember that. It doesn't hurt to be nice to each other.
2) There's been lots of complaining so far, but nows the time to work out a solution or stop moaning. We are where we are at the minute, but can I suggest this is exactly what a group like iMusc is for. It appears this is something where the supporters views could be represented to the club after a potential solution is agreed. This solution is surely either a loyalty based stamps system as mentioned or a voucher based system where attendance at immediate games prior to a cup game is rewarded. Either of these could give you priority after season tickets and fan club members in a general sale.
3) Its sad to hear about people missing the game, but looking on the bright side, never before have those not in the stadium had the chance to still see the game live on the TV! No one will miss this game if they don't want to, but some will just not be in the ground.
4) Let's start looking forward now to the football. This thread has run 16 pages whereas any talk of the actual game has been minimal. There's also a game Tuesday where it will be great to see the future of the club. While all this discussion is going on, I'm just excited to have 4 home games in the space of 11 days!
So let's put this to bed and enjoy the fact that we're experiencing an amazing season and one we'll all look back on in years to come. This could be a special year for all involved COYS!!!

I haven't argued that people shouldn't be there. In fact my post says that one of the reasons for battling away all those years was to have loads more Maidstonians going. However, I can't disagree with the comment about it not being my club any more. As I say, I liked it when you just turned up and watched. Now we are in an era of scrabbling for tickets, dealing with yobs and high (sometimes ridiculous expectations etc etc. I know it comes with the territory if you want to go higher and higher. That, aylesford, is probably why I don't want to go higher and higher. It's certainly a dilemma Ade. On an ideal world we all want our club to do well, win leagues and get promoted, but when they do it does take away some of the magic of supporting a non-league club. I'm definitely in two minds about possible promotion. On the one hand I don't want the club to stagnate, but on the other I still want to be able to have a pint while watching the game and mingle with opposition fans. I won't stop going now whatever level we reach, but some of the fun will have gone out of it. Quite agree Davy lad. Will see yu at a game sometime

On that basis I would still have been ticketless but £15 worse off. Luckily, I made no attempt to get a ticket anyway and will watch on BT Sports. As I said, I will pop along next when The Bay are the visitors on 24th. I can watch Stuart King hattrick and still remain undecided about him.

Always rated him myself, shame he didn't fit in.

I remember feeling that way when we got promoted to the Football League - it just wasn't the same. Suddenly we were one of the teams to be knocked out of the FA Cup by "non-league minnows".

i'm struggling to see where nws has said he wanted the club to go back to the dark days, just that he enjoyed them the fact that you want to get rid of supporters who kept this club alive makes you a bigger cock that nws will ever be Jeeps. That is an insult to springfieldstone, v. I wouldn't worry. Springfieldstone is a lickspittle whose contributions to this discourse are only notable by their lack of substance and spelling. Two of the, no doubt many, reasons he is indeed a lickspittle.

Read you t**t ,I didn't say he wanted to go back to the bad days. Just said he should go away and play in Herne Bay You didn't say anything about playing in Herne Bay. If yu cannot read your own posts how do you expect anyone else to decipher the nonsensical garbage you write. Still, if I am playing in Herne Bay I might be scoring at the Town End on 24th.
