See Lynn, it wasn't just me! Jay May has a lot of perseverence and I am glad he got his goal. In reality I think more firepower is required if you want us to win a championship We need a creative midfielder My only concern is against the better sides will we be able to feed our forwards as center midfield still not creative enough.

Rome wasnt built in a day!! We won on opening day and beat a team we failed to beat last season, lets get a positive vibe going, we have a good team here onwards and upwards

It's a long season and a win at home is the best start, hopefully a few more are encouraged to come down by the result as 1500-1600 is a couple of hundred down on the recent norm. People will come if they can see that Maidstone are winning at home. People want entertainment but also need to be associated with winners. The Club need to think about viewing / sight lines for standing spectators as well. If you stand round the side but not in the front row, unless you secure a friendly short @rse to stand in front of you then you might just as well stay in the bar.

Who says Met Police aren't one of the stronger sides?
Yesterday was a marked improvement on last season and surely Jay and the players deserve a bit more credit for what turned out to be a very hard fought victory.
Sure the opening goal took the wind out of sails and the players heads dropped a bit but Jay clearly got his half time team talk right as the team came out with a renewed purpose. Can't fault any of the players myself and thought we looked pretty good.

I was slightly disappointed by the attendance figure, but in fact it was the 7th highest non league crowd in the country (viz. Non League Matters). What are Bristol Rovers doing in the Conference!?! Fron the Ryman website I noted goals scored by Welford (Cray) and Hughes-Mason (Leatherhead). Luke Rooney played the last 7 minutes for Luton, but Oztumer didn't even get on Peterborough's bench.

It's probably a false picture comparing attendances in early august with season averages, as a lot of people will still be on holiday or participating in summer sports. Can't remember what we had for the opening game last year but let's not forget that almost any team will bring more support than met police, so taking all factors into account it's too soon to be worrying about attendances.

Gibber, gibber, gibber...at Christmas people ain't turning up because it's Christmas and it's not fair to compare. After Christmas people ain't turning up because it's just after Christmas and they have no money. In November it's too cold and wet and the same in February. On bank Holiday Monday everyone will be expecting bumper crowds because it's bank holiday monday...strangely the end of August ain't in the summer holidays. What an utter nonsense of an excuse from the one-man MUFC PR machine

We had 2,000 last seasons, and that game was of course Wealdstone.

I'm typing this on a campsite in France trying to connect to the worst wifi in the world (they only just switched off Minitel).
Good to know I will be returning to a few points in the bag.

They did have the ball in the net in the second half but it was well after the ref had stopped play. If I recall correctly it was for a foul on JP, which in all honesty could have gone either way, but we were on the wrong end of a few of those as well so they really have no cause for complaint.

As mysterious as failing to mention our wrongly disallowed goal in any shape or form.
