For some bizarre reason the forum wont link to it. Go to the Mangles forum & you'll find:
"...I was talking to a friend yesterday whose son plays for Tonbridge Angels (Sonny Miles). Apparently he's been approached by Maidstone: "Whatever Tonbridge were paying you, we'll double it"!!!"

Miles and Muggeridge have both turned down offers from TA

I was told by someone at Tonbridge we'd put in an offer for Muggeridge, although my guess is that it's dependent on Cox's contract situation as we def wouldn't sign both on. Miles is on around 250/300 a wekk at Tonbridge so I really hope we're not offering double!

I'd be very surprised if the mangels paid 250-300 for a center half who has been with them his whole life.
From what i've heard we want both players,so do Dartford so its a two way battle between us and Council FC,for both signatures.
Burman sent Muggeridge to Mangels after a pre-season saying he wasn't up tp conference Prem but ok for the South.Miles has turned Dartford down before, also when they were CON South.
Both these players are the type WE need for promotion, with the departure of attwood i hope we get these two, whats the point in having a million pound income and 1800 a week through the gate if we are out bid by 50 quid a week.

That's about the norm for a part time footballer at Ryman/ Conference South level training twice a week, Attwoods reported wages at Margate are closer to that of full time footballers at Conference level and despite our good levels of income we do still have a large amount outstanding on our ground and are working to an overall wage structure.
Personally I'd rather see Cox sign on than bring in Muggeridge, although I do agree Miles is the type of centre half we should be looking at.

I'm sure Muggeridge was playing right wing against us in the pre-season friendly and right back is his more natural position I wonder if Jay is thinking about that right side where we have had issues for the last couple of seasons (compared to Mills and Flish on the left)
I see Orlando and Richard Davies trained last night in an effort to prove their fitness

Would love to see them both back next season Orlando/Bodkin and Cox/Davies makes for a very strong right side. Muggeridge's natural position was right back but I know Tonbridge played a formation using him as wing back a lot of the time. Decent player but personally I'd like to see us keep hold of the majority of last years squad and add in a couple of key areas, i.e. centre half, holding midfield and up top - I know it's common at Ryman level especially that teams chop and change squads come the summer but I don't think we were far off last year and team just needs tinkering.
