Considering the club have only been going since 2012, I think we are doing well, what's the rush Your just happy to be playing Maidstone. I think we all are. At the start of the season you could easily name 5 teams who on paper should have been above us at this stage. Results throughout the whole league have been varied to say the least, with any team capable of taking points against others. I think sometimes especially on these boards we get caught up with the goading from other Kent clubs and try to justify ourselves, this in turn leads us to turn on each other. We are all at some point guilty of our hearts ruling our heads. Looking at the whole picture though we are in a very nice position, like anything in life it doesnt always go our way but until the final game is completed in this league ( about December 2014 at this rate) none of us will know just how far we have come.

I'm sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks big crowds = big budget. It doesn't. Why would we spunk all the money on the team when we've got close to 3000000 to pay off on the stadium. Probably because our budget was set up on the basis of 800-900 crowds. There is a clear ambition to go higher. You seem to be content watching a team that isn't necessarily competiing to the maximum of its potential

Why would you spunk all that money on court fees to get 3g pitches agreed in the Conference for next season, if your expectation was to stay in the Ryman Premier. I'm assuming we haven't spent a huge amount money on legal fees yet (it's the lawyers, not the courts, who cost so much - ah, happy days!). DLT had to sell his mansion and buy a hovel to pay his. It would be the ultimate irony if the owners had to sell the Gallagher in order to feed the ravenous maw of the Bar, to win an argument over 3g, when we'd lost the ground to play on. Jarndice v Jarndice anyone? In other words, I'm in favour of a long negotiation/persuasion, not of going to court, when the outcome can never be certain.

Awful, jay should learn from their manager he never stopped screaming at players and we were losing and jay just stood with hands in pockets as usual Well as quote goes ... It is said that a man with a hole in his trousers' pocket felt cocky all day !!! ... It's a quote !! If we want to talk about the game yesterday ... Here is my assessment of the events that took place ... As I keep saying, we are the "Aristocrats" of this league, by virtue that we are the best supported club, from the management up and down to the supporters that turn up in numbers home and away. We have players very important to us that are out injured and their abbsence is more noticeable as they are matured and seasoned players. Yesterday, we should have "brushed by" this Harrow Borough side, if only going by their league position compared to ours... Some of you, will remember our first meeting this year,we were winning 3-1 at half time, then adding another goal early in the second half and then .... We went asleep ... After that, it appeared that each time they took a shot at goal, they scored ... and they bloody did ... What happened yesterday was that they played their "Tramp Card" by doing more or less the same thing ... their goals seemed to go in at will ... shot !!... goal !! ... Shot !! ... goal !! ... then a sloppy scrumble from midfield, the loose ball being kick up to their centre forward somehow ... our defence thinking about the cup of tea at half time and bang ... we were 3-1 down ... could have been 4 ... but for the "squat jumps" of one of our regular supporter who did his best ... with success to put off their penalty taker ... ! ...Well done that man ... We did come out in the second half but found their goalie , whom I thought ordinary , in the first half, playing a blinder, pulling saves after saves ... We didn't have the penetration enough to break their resilience, too many players wanting to be individuals ... I thought that football was a team sport ... The usual suspects were absent once again , Franny Collin, Alex Brown in particular ... oh I hear you said , he scored our goal ... a tap in in an open goal !!... The man was quality, early in the season, he scored goals, left , right and centre ... He seems to have lost his way and his confidence for a while now ... Personally I think that Jay, oh yes ... he is our manager ... should rest him, put him on the sub bench and give one of the young players from the under 21 side, come in as they do in cup games, looking pretty useful !!!. Some of you should get off Luke Rooney's back and appreciate that the guy is quality, what happened to him, for whatever reason, is the past, he is a Maidstone player now and should be judge at this level, incidently, he is a class above ... Zac was is usual hard working, tackling and doing his best ... Flish ... running tirelessly down the wing and chasing every balls. Can't blame the pitch or the windy condition ... they had the same problem .. We were below par once again ,,, Thamesmead all over ... So we have billericay away next ... well here is our chance to bounce back and I believe we will ... more concentrations is needed and that will to win instilled back into our boys ... Jay take your hands out of your pocket ,,, not necessarely shout at them ... but the motivation required to help them have that winning mentality. Wealdstone have to win their games in hand ... The league table doesn't lie , we are still top of it ... Let's go and put the pressure on those chasing side by winning our next games !! C'MON YOU STONES !!! ... ALLEZ LES AMBERS !!! We are "Top of the League" so as I have often heard from some of you say : "... and we f*cked it up" !!. .. Let's not !!

Well, having taken time to reflect on Saturday, and having read the posts on here, I would say: Whilst I'd agree waving your arms around and shouting at your players does not make a good manager, but neither does not being able to change a game because you don't communicate with the players! You need to have a plan b, yet sometimes you wonder id there's a plan a! Team selection on Saturday seemed odd, but that might have been down to injury. A heavy pitch, an experienced manager and strong direct team, which we found out to our cost earlier in the season, we needed more strength in the midfield, Nathan should have started. Graham Andrews was selected ahead of Sobers, again maybe to injury, but that wasn't the game to throw somebody in just returning from a lay off! Expectation, I'd agree after winning promotion last year, I'd have been happy with mid table, however when you're top half way through Feb, when rightly your expectations change As for our budget, we may not be the highest payers in the league, but when you sign the best striker and goalkeeper at this and probably the level up, and have two transfers in the past 18 months over 6k (allegedly) then your budget is none too shabby is it? I could be wrong, but what other clubs at our level pay a transfer fee? I can take defeat, during our previous time at this level, you get used to it, but two 4 - 1 defeats against bottom 6 sides, sorry all sides lose to low table sides, but when our wheels come off, they fly off in spectacular fashion. As for our directors being happy with mid table? I don't think so, Oliver wants a fight with the conference, Terry waNts a promotion and go and tell Bill mid table is good! Anyway, I'll still be there on Tuesday (if on) and I'll support the team, but sometimes you have to watch a game of football to criticise it! COYS

I've never suggested we wouldn't want to be promoted, but if you'd offered me 5th at the start of the season I'd have snatched your hand off. I still believe some people have unrealistic expectations, not just about winning the league, but also about the level of performances. Clearly some people haven't learnt anything from watching us struggle to impose ourselves at home for the majority of the season.

No I meant the fans who think we're better than we actually are. In my opinion we are a side whose natural level is the fringes of the playoffs. We are to a small degree punching above our weight as there are several teams at least as good as if not better than us.

Why you bothering to turn up if you don't believe us to be conpetitive That's a very strange question, especially from someone who followed us all through the County League days, standing in the rain in muddy fields. Surely, of all people, The Great NWS understands how supporting a football team works.
