Unfortunately until more clubs go to the wall and grass roots football begins to die because of the many abandoned games this time of year, the dinosaurs at the FA will do nothing but wring their hands and claim its evolution

Just been scanning some forums and Margate are having a debate on 3G, the majority of supporters believe its a good idea, there are still people who claim we have an unfair advantage, thankfully we are dispelling that rumour doverathletic.freeforums.org/3g-or-not-3g-t3487.html

The games are not abandoned they are postponed to be played another day. But that costs clubs financially as midweek games usually have lower attendance's .
The others will soon whinge, and cry unfair advantage without even playing us. When they are playing three games a week for the last month of the season ,we wont be as we have not had any cancellation's.

Loose YMCA has a 3G pitch which is hired out 3 nights a week. 6 teams playing at once, at 4 different KO times at £34 per team. That's £816 a night, £2448 a week or £127296 per 52 weeks. Obviously there are things to be taken out if this but if this isn't a reason for smaller teams to have 3G I don't know what is

The weather forecaster on the BBC this morning was warning rugby spectators that they were in for a drenching, but that the match at Cardiff would definitely be going ahead because they have "a plastic (sic) pitch". Bearing in mind that weather that used to be "once in a hundred years" now seems to be arriving annually, where's the harm in 3g? Those that don't like it can stick (literally sometimes) to grass if they want - Luddites they would have been called 150 years ago.

Wealdstones and Hornchurch's games are both off today, need to make this count today and get the win, it's better to have the points on the board than games in hand like we found out last year to our cost

To be fair to all the critics of 3G I think most Stones fans (and I include myself in this) were not too keen on 3G when we first heard that the new stadium would have one. We reluctantly accepted it as necessary to get the stadium built but now we are all been won over and love it. Almost every club/fan that comes to the Gallagher and sees the pitch is converted. It is just an education process that might take a frustratingly long time....

I feel sorry for the other clubs who can't afford it so instead bitch n moan about ours bit hey let em it's there loss at the end of the season lol but I have to say I fully agree with steve21 because I was quite sceptical at first tbh but after watching a few games n playing on it a few times I was fully converted as I found v ball ran n bounced a lot more true than on a mud bath anyway well done to the Harlow board for being brave enough to take a risk in it, I would like to know there opinion on it now they have been playin on it for awhile now n good luck to margate in getting 3G i belief it will have massive long term benifits on n off the pitch for em like us

I'm watching the Saracens v Connacht Heineken cup game on Sky before setting off for the game today. This is being played on the 3G at The Allianz stadium. No one is wearing tights, the tackling and rucking is full blooded and it's a great game to watch. If it's good enought for top level contact sport ...............
