In the end a routine win for The Stones, but it took long enough to get the breakthrough, helped by the deserved sending off of the Enfield defender.
Thought that Rose had a good start apart from one dodgy moment in the first half, and Jack Harris looked good/powerful coming on as sub.
A tremendous final goal from Rory The Lion, making the most of his start in place of Orlando.

Didnt think the game was as comfortable as the score suggests but a good win in the end. Rory Hill was the top performer today and his second goal was a great finish . Impressed with both the new boys. Where was Orlando?

A hard fought win against a team that came for a point.Good to see Rory playing well and 2 goals good effort from the new signings but on the down side Micky and Alex picking up bookings that will lead to suspensions.A good turnout as well so well done everyone coys

If you look at the Enfield twitter feed, their red card 'perhaps wouldn't have been given without a large partisan crowd appealing for it'.
Well, I have a lot of admiration for Enfield, the club have done brilliantly to come through the leagues, their support yesterday was fine, fair and committed, and Donkey Lane is a fine ground which Porky is keenly looking forward to visiting in April 2014 ( Porky last visited Donkey Lane in 19XX for a School Sports day, but that's another story ).
But come on guys, Jordan Lockie was sent off because he was late in the tackle - end of story.

Agreed it was hard fought, one of the less satisfying 3 - 0 wins I thought. I just hope Frannie's mojo returns very soon. 2. A match lasts 90 minutes (or so), taking two chances lasting less than one minute does not mean a player has had a good game! I can't believe that Rory is running away with the MOM vote - oh ,hang on, yes I can 3. Yesterday was the 4th Qualifying Round of the F A Cup, perhaps the season's most important fixtures in non-league football. The only attendance higher than ours (for a regulation league match against a struggling club) was Ebbsfleet v Dartford, the localest of derbies. Respect to Maidstone supporters, shame on the rest of you!

He even apologised to a fan of Enfield.

Regardless of whether it should have been a straight red it would have been a yellow card. So he would still have been sent off with two yellows. Probably got more to do with the implementation of the laws of the game rather than a partisan crowd. Anyways, talking of Partisan crowds. The crowds roar for Zak's disallowed goal was clearly heard in Bannister Road, Penenden Heath, and Rory's opener was clearly heard at the North end of Lushington Road, Ringlestone, both a mile away as the crow flies. Noisy buggers.

As it happens I thought we played quite well, we had to be patient and for a while I was worried we weren't going to get that vital breakthrough, but there was little doubt we deserved the 3 points.
In terms of MOM I think it is difficult to single any player out but I actually thought as much as nobody really stood out, for me it was more than pleasing to see Richard Rose come in and look as though he had played for us for some time. The NLP gives MOM to Jack Sullivan.
Jack Harris came on showed some good touches but the player I think is growing in confidence is Fabio. Sadly he will probably always be judged on the times he gives the ball away, but actually he plays a lot of defence splitting balls that create chances. He scored the second yesterday, and played the ball in for the third. Against Lowestoft he played the forward pass to Frannie that lead to the opening goal.
Massive massive game next week, I imagine Richard Rose will replace Jack Sullivan at right back as I'm of the opinion we need an experienced defender to deal with the huge threat of Tom Pett on Wealdstone's left wing.
For now we are top of the league and haven't conceded a goal in the league since Harrow at home.

Creative midfielders will give the ball away otherwise they're not gona be creative. No killer through pass is spot on every time.

Although i said Rory had a good game didnt vote him motm but if i did guess i would of upset some more people (again)) I don't see why anyopne should be upset. I wasn't even really surprised, after all it's very easy for people to vote for someone who scored a couple of goals. For what it's worth I voted for Richard Rose, I thought he had a very assured debut.
