Bad day at the office, got what we deserved. Worst I've seen us play for a while, lets hope we've now got that out of our system.

Very poor, good players not performing, and unfortunately some players who are not up to standard! Let's hope Brown's injury isn't long term, and is Charley Robertson injured also?

Highlight of the day had to be the Maidstone 'fan' who ran across the social club cheering the goal - only to discover it was Margate who had scored! He then proceeded to abuse those laughing at him!

Very poor today, lots of hoofing. Watt's shot was a good hit and was well saved, would have been harsh on Margate if we'd nicked a point. If we play like that Saturday, kingstonian will ruin us. Scored 14 and yet to concede after 6 games. Deffo missed browny in the middle today, hopefully he's ok for Saturday. Worgan has again shown what a good keeper he is. It could be worse though, look how our former landlords are doing.

What is it about August Bank holiday.last year we produced our worst performance of the season at Worthing and hopefully we have witnessed our worst today for this season. Although deserving their win today was not that impressed by Margate who I think will finish mid-table at best. We were truly awful today and hopefully just a one off,we have a big test on Saturday against leaders Kingstonian who have yet to concede after 6 games.

Agree with this - bring back Osbourne ASAP. We were completely outplayed today by a skillful Margate side, especially in the first half. Whitely absolutely murdered Mills during the first half. Hessenthaler looked a different player to the runt who had a shocker at the Gallagher last season and should have had a penalty when he embarrassed Watt. Margate passed well and dominated the midfield and looked a strong side all round. Yet another shocking performance from Lye - what more can be said? We looked extremely dodgy at the back as well - Sobers played like he was drunk at times although made some crucial interventions as well. Worst part for me today were the embarrassing number of kneejerkers around at full time who seemed to be on the verge of topping themselves after such a disgraceful performance. I guess these people are just bandwagoners used to winning they throw their toys out of the pram when things aren't going our way (this is coming from a proud bandwagoner who is used to following an 'underperforming' side in another sport). We lost, we will lose games occasionally, Margate are not a bad side, move on to next week where we will be tested once more. Lord knows what these people would have thought when the side really were struggling in years gone by.

IMO Paid for 90 mins + football action, the ball only on the floor for 30 seconds, well taken goal by the Gate. Compared to Saturdays game, where was the midfield, both teams seem intent just to HOOF the ball forward, for what purpose? Poor showing by the Stones, WE ARE MUCH,MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.....

Agree with this - bring back Osbourne ASAP I wouldn't go that far, Sullivan is more than capable and deserves his chance.

Surely we need to get a bit of perspective here? Sure we were poor and got what we deserved but this time last season we had already lost twice (in fewer games), I don't think singling out any player is going to help. It was a bad day at the office and not one payer (apart from Worgs) can claim to have had a good game.
I remember when Flish's and Mills were just breaking into the first team and they looked very out of place at times, so we just need to give Davies and Saraiva time, they are good enough I have no doubt about that.
We could have done with Lea Dawson being there today and grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck but before the season started I would have taken the points total we have.
It is just one game....,we move on

Why do you think the team are having to resort to hoofing tactics? I'm fairly certain Saunders hasn't given instruction to avoid playing it around on the floor. We are being forced into doing so, and at this level it seems to be a pretty prominent tactic for most sides. Some can effect it better than others. The most frustrating instances are when we have played some nice football and then it lands at the feet of Sobers or Lye - why they are in these positions I do not know and I don't blame them for how frequently they gift possession to the other side. At one point Hill played it back to Sobers who was lurking around at right back and had the whole team in front of him hanging around in the box. He played a poor ball and was lambasted by our supporters. Annoying.

It was a bad day right from he warm ups which seemed less intensive than usual. We really missed Smith & Brown as mentioned above. On the other hand, the seats at Hartsdown were amongst the most comfortable this year...................

Haven't seen enough of Sullivan to comment but things can't get a lot worse than Davies IMO. Hope you chaps have it right, would like to see someone (anyone) else have a go at right back...
