I don't think there is a need for a bar. Maybe a burger and tea bar. Their fans are asking that others take responsibility so we should. I don't think beer should be supplied to those that refuse to take responsibility Bloody hell it would be a pretty sober ground in that case, anyway shouldn't you be painting Probably a good thing given yesterday. Ran out of paint so had to stop. Trying to relax before decision day tomorrow

JT, I know what you were hoping for but many on here can vouch that I generally watch both halves from the Springfield end. (Unless I'm in the salmon and red wine suite!) Strange how you were chatting on about singing songs from the left hand town end at the last game. Can we safely assume that our firm is thus called 'The Ant Boys'? Note my use of the word "generally" and that my town end visit was in a pre season friendly where space was not at a premium

Sad if it comes to that, Southwick...but unfortunately a very sensible suggestion Or unlike the Leatherhead game / shenanigans they could learn from it this time & the powers that be with regards to stewarding could allocate them better...... Maybe draw up a few scenarios / action plans to put into place should certain events occur, i.e if team known to be a tad iffy brings 200 or so supporters.

First of all , did anyone actually predict what was going to happen yesterday? Yes, and I think that's part of why so many people are annoyed (not your fault, of course). Wealdstone have a reputation for this kind of thing and a few of us at the Springfield End in the first half were nervously watching the Town End hoping that nothing would kick off. Personally, I have tried to warn people during pre-season games not to stand with the Wealdstone fans as there is potential for trouble, and it was no surprise to anyone around me in the Springfield End when trouble broke out. I'm not in a position to comment on your response to the Wealdstone fans as I was at the opposite end to them during both halves. In general, I think that the security team have struck a good balance since the ground opened when dealing with things. But as you point out, there are only four of you, and for a game against a club known to have a large travelling support, a significant minority of whom are known to be troublemakers, it seems that the club were a tad underprepared. Four qualified stewards was simply not enough for a game like this one. I see that there is another thread entitled "Segregation" so I will reserve further comment until I have read that.

Those of us who remember our previous four season stint in this division will agree with that hitman, we generally found the Prem a enjoyable place and can only recall meeting morons at Hornchurch, Dartford (for obvious reasons) and Tonbridge - none of which we have to endure this season.
I genuinely believe that we've got the worst one out of the way and if the club carry through their promise of better trained stewards and clamping down on those fans causing disturbances then I can only see the rest of the season being a far happier experience.

I didn't...we were rubbish...and we had 2 years at Ashford.

Does it really enhance the match experience?

I don't think it's necessary, but certainly isn't unnecessary It doesn't enhance the experience (unless it's a particularly dire match) but it shouldn't unenhance it either. A common past-time for many, particularly at weekends, is socialising in the sun with a beer. (Not socialising WITH the beer for the pedants). Come the winter there is a noticeable decline in beer on the terraces - hands firmly in pockets
