Seems a good move. We must be faultless and leave no stone unturned if we want to win this league.

A couple of the away games I've been to recently, the young lad - Zach Foster Crouch - has been on the pitch in the warm up and then not even been on the bench, so we've gone without a sub keeper. Just think back to Drayc's 10 mins at the end of the Mertsham game, he did ok haha.

Pat, I take your point. However look back to the 2007 - 8 Season in the Ryman Prem. Stones were at Heybridge Swifts ( in the fair and beautiful county of Essex ) in December 2007 and Pat Mullin "injured" himself in the Warm Up. No reserve keeper was available, so Lee Shearer went in goal for the game.
Shears did a great job, but we lost 2 - 1 and I think the winning Swifts goal was a low shot that Lee couldn't get down to ..............
Sure in 2007/08 the club was probably a shower of **** compared to where we are now, but any loss this year because of an unforseen keeper injury in the same circumstances as at Heybridge is not acceptable at all.
Can you imagine finishing 2nd this year and having a playoff game against Hythe Town ??

Porkystone, I was joking about Draycs, but it seems strange that we have taken ZFC along to at least one game and then didn't have him on the bench. He was actually commentating at the Horhsam game. I've only started following MUFC this year, myself an "immigrant" from Essex haha, but thanks for sharing your memories about seasons gone by, it's always interesting to hear these stories.
Fair point about finishing second.

Pat, good job I was polite about Essex !!!
I would put Tony Kessell straight in to the team instead of Derren...

Haha, no worries, I used to live in Harold Hill (Romford) and then Basildon, so I know how lucky I am to now be living in Maidstone.
Ok fair enough - I know nothing about the new guy.

Haha, no worries, I used to live in Harold Hill (Romford) and then Basildon, You left Baz Vegas to come to Maidstone? Must have been a culture shock, Pat? I'm currently siting in my office in the 'land of 2 heads' Corringham, waiting for the 'time lock' to open to get thro' passport control and back to Kent!

Yes I was there, it was worse than that tho' Pat was already hurt but thought it would be ok, the management only found out when they got to the ground! Mind you Shearer was a legend!

Ah Baz Vegas haha, yeah went there a few times. Maidstone has it's own one of course in Lock Meadow. Culture shock ? In a good way yeah haha.
Corringham, that's where we went for East Thurrock away, wasn't it ?

Haha. Well despite living in Basildon for 7 years, that was the first time I went to Corringham when we played ET away.

but it seems strange that we have taken ZFC along to at least one game and then didn't have him on the bench. He's only been on the bench for a couple of games, travelling mainly for the experience and also to help Deren with the warm-ups as he's a good coach as well.
