In my experience the people in the office are really helpful, and the bar staff are usually nice and chatty when time allows. The security / stewards awful. We’ve gone from welcoming people entering the ground to airport style pat downs and bag searches. I’m 57 and in the main stand for gods sake! Not sure what to make of the club shop. Can never get anything online so chanced my luck popping down to get a shirt for my nephew. Was made to feel like a burden by the woman who runs it who told me off for having the audacity to actually want to spend money with the club. Hopefully she was just having an off day. Never had an issue with the club shop. The stewards can be a bit officious but most of them are friendly enough. I do think NWS is unrealistic expecting the turnstiles still to be manned after half time. As for bag searches, if it stops youngsters bringing in pyro or illicit booze then why not?

Shame the friendly volunteers representing the club have decreased in number over the years, but ask yourself with how a proportion of our fans behave - are you surprised?

I have never had reason to complain about the stewards or club employees. The office is always friendly and accommodating, the shop can get busy and is not big enough but it is staffed by volunteers so they are doing us a favour. Would you rather be in the shop or watch the game? Security have a job to do and we have had less trouble and no flares this year so that is working well. I have always found them friendly. I am diabetic and on one occasion when my sugars were low and I had to go to the other end of the ground for food, the security could see I had a problem and showed concern and offered help. I don't know what some of you expect but if you took time to be polite and friendly with the staff I am certain it would be reciprocated. I have followed the club for 60 years and yes there used to be be volunteers and you got to know their names but many are still there.

I can understand searching the bag of a 16 year old. But my 70 year wife, c'mon now, use a bit of common sense.

Yes because that's exactly where the little gets put the pyro, in a bag that they know is gonna get searched. Bag checking is way over the top.

The security are told to search all bags. This avoids allegations of discrimination. If you put an age on it how much more difficult would that be. They do not do a body search on everyone as they do at Barnet. In truth it would be easy to take a flare in your coat pocket so apart from making a point I am not sure how effective bag searches are. I am not sure if it is still the case but museums and art galleries in London used to do bag searches of everyone, it is not a great problem is it?

Theatres in my experience search everyone on the way in. At the O2 you have to empty your pockets into a tray, walk through a scanner and pick your belongings up on the other side. It may be fine for clubs with a few hundred supporters to not bother with searches but when it’s over 2 thousand every week it’s not unexpected.

I am not sure if it is still the case but museums and art galleries in London used to do bag searches of everyone, it is not a great problem is it? A few years ago to prove how inept Star security were I turned up at home with a ten inch carving knife in the bottom of my bag. My bag was searched and they missed it allowing me to enter with said knife to cause mayhem if that were my intention. Before kickoff i brought it to the attention of club officials who were not interested as it wasn't their responsibility. I sent photos to the club which as far as I know were ignored and the net result of Star Securities ineptitude was a new contract and a pay rise. Someone mentioned Barnet away where they wanted to body search me and I would not let them without wearing a mask and gloves, they had neither and si went through unmolested. Dover also tried it with me and informed the man if he touched me I would nut him into the middle of next week. He called the police over who just laughed at him.

I'm 67, carry a thermos flask of tea Had no problem at yours, but run the gauntlet at Sutton. The security wanted to seize it, outside the ground. Legally, they couldn't until I entered the ground. I insisted on a numbered, official receipt, signed by the club security manager so that I could Reclaim it afterwards. They let me in with it!

I had my camera taken by stewards at Torquay once. And they kept remarking about how all the food I bought was from Lidl

The bag search is a farce. Literally no one else gets searched. I had a bottle of cola in the inside pocket of my jacket, making a fairly obvious bulge (ooh, er, missus) but no one bothered to check it wasn't a flare.
Reminds me of Upton Park years ago - they had a policy that you could only take bottles in without a cap. So I just used to keep a spare cap in my pocket...

I also carry a bottle of fizz into games pr a hot drink when it gets colder and have never been searched. The searching of bags is more of a warning and a deterrent.
Sword was lucky his knife was not found or he could have been banged up for being in possession of an offensive weapon.
I once had a family holiday in the Canary islands. We took the children to the mock up wild west town used for filming and bought them cap guns. The bag was X-rayed at the airport and and armed police appeared pointing guns terrifying the children. No apology just told we should have declared the guns which were clearly toys. Our security have a lot to learn from the Spanish police and we would have something to complain about.

I also got into Northampton Town with a knife. I had come straight from work and forgot it was in my pocket until about 50 yards from the turnstile,i wasn't throwing away my favourite knife and so i put it in my shoe and walked in with it. A first aider noticed me walking badly and asked if i was ok and I convinced her it was gout.🤣

Danny Baker once did strange things people have taken into football grounds on 606.
My favourite was someone who took in a chainsaw to Barnet after work. Imagine the carnage.
