Although this board has survived the madness of a few years ago and settled down into a thoughtful (mostly!) and interesting discussion forum, it is also - unfortunately - clear that it is becoming increasingly less relevant.
Why? Simply because the number of members and regular posters/readers is gradually declining. I can't give you stats on this (they don't exist), but anyone who has been on this board over the last ten years or so who looks through the members list will notice so many posters who have ceased to be involved. And, more importantly, the low number of members joining recently - exactly none.
And the reason for that is also simple - the Admin has gone AWOL - he hasn't logged in for almost exactly three years.
And, without an Admin, no new members can join. Without new members, this board will gradually become a MUFC Derby and Joan club. Cosy and uncontentious, but essentially rather pointless.
So - what to do about it? I've done the obvious thing, and contacted Proboards (about a year ago), pointing out that we were apparently Admin-less, and could they do anything about it? They were concerned and promised to sort things out, but have actually done f**k all - despite several reminders.
Any ideas? Anyone know who Whitstone is? (Or perhaps was - he last logged in at the height of the pandemic.)
