Don't let the title trick you into thinking I know all the jiggery-pokery adminy bits - I don't because if I did, I'd have my post count reset and nws would have a side forum for his politics bit It's not a one admin gig so if anyone else wants in, I'm sure it can be arranged. I'm around for the interim, but I'm no spring chicken - I was hanging around the Athletic Ground when Bill Williams was a lad Just to note that I used one thread for politics, so people could read and post or ignore it. If you were reading it, it is because you wanted to. I might also add that latterly others posted there as much as me. I could also argue the same about the pubs thread. I don't. I don't post much on it and don't generally read it (the same as a long and boring jdl post). It's quite easy really, I don't need help to ignore what I'm not interested in. Nice one on taking on the admin role though It works quite well having a few superthreads hoovering up the non football chat. Even the NL NLS threads serve a similar purpose, keeping subjects in one findable place and avoiding repetition. I’m open minded about whether that happens in one or two forums. Will probably be dictated by bandwidth and traffic. One of the Ipswich forums moved so fast you had to search for Maidstone discussions. But we’re not in that category.

Oh well,I'm another one whose account was deleted, after joining this forum 14 years ago I think we were all deleted. I had to recreate my account, and all my old threads/posts are labelled 'deleted' - but I mysteriously became a 'god' again! I'm not actually too bothered, tbh, just glad the forum is still up and most posters have returned. And at least new members can join now.

A strange conclusion to come to when I literally said I ignore his long, boring posts.

Can I humbly suggest we think about the future of the moribund sub forums? Having everything in one or two places might make it appear a little busier. In the year or so between realising Admin had gone AWOL and Thanos 2.0, I gave this some thought. My initial idea was that we only need two forums: General Chat (renamed 'Football') and Non Maidstone United Chat (renamed 'Other Stuff' or similar), with, perhaps, 'Football' replaced by two forums - ie 'Stones' and 'Other Football' (although, logical as this sounds, it's actually quite difficult to keep threads on topic). The other forums are pretty much dead. But... looking at it now, I'm thinking "surely any self-respecting club message/discussion board really should have forums like Youth and Community, iMUSC, Stones Live and Transport Wanted/Offered?" Surely we need these too? But the answer seems to be, no we don't - not only do board users rarely, if ever, post on these forums, but even people like iMUSC and Stones Live don't! So, what to do? Rationalise the board down to three forums and recognise the reality that no one is interested in the other four, or keep it much as it is and try (how?) to encourage people to use the four moribund forums? And now you know why I didn't volunteer to be Admin! Over to you, Yorkie... The brilliant thing about forums like this is that they don't really exist in the physical sense so the only limitation that I can imagine being an issue is server space and clearly that isn't a massive problem and it wouldn't be added to (I imagine) unless we did something daft that encouraged people to post huge numbers of images or embedded videos. At the end of the day we're just messing around with electrons or something. I don't want to change anything, I only volunteered because that's the kind of thing I do, and it means that if we get attacked by bots or spammers there's someone around to deal with them. nws, completely respect your point and my reference to you was very tongue-in-cheek

Please, in any cull, are you able to preserve the thread where Porkystone is the final contributor. A small memory of him.

Hmm ! Having disingenuousy claimed not to be at all bothered about losing his God status, it appears to have been re-installed for yours truly. What a surprise. Could be just luck of the draw but more likely somebody has been pleading with the administrator.

Pretty sure you can transfer discussions between forums, and even put them pinned at the top if it went to a quieter sub forum.

One thing I've never understood is you can add a poll to a new thread in the non Maidstone United section but you cant in this section.
I remember in the past some have wanted to do a poll about something but it wasnt possible.
