I should like to propose jdl for this position Thanks for nothing! I would do it, but only on a purely temporary basis - until another candidate/mug came along. But, with Proboards not even bothering to respond to my last two messages, nearly a year ago now, I think it's rather academic. As for starting a new board, I can't see that working, and, anyway, I'm rather fond of this one. I will try messaging Proboards again. But I'm rather surprised that no one has owned up to knowing Whitstone - I assumed he would have been one of the Wilderness Years/new ground era people, and there are still quite a few of them on here. On a forum it’s not always easy to know who everyone is. For example, I know you, NWS, sennokian, sword and maybe one or two others, but I also probably meet quite a few others on match days without necessarily associating them with this forum. So it may be that some of us do know Whitstone without realising. |

I’ve met him on a couple of occasions, he’s the brother of a regular supporter, who is friends with a mate of mine who attends matches every week
I’ve not had a conversation with him over the forum, because quite frankly it isn’t a priority, the said friend is a forum member so I’ll leave him to put me straight, but I believe he took on admin quite a few times ears ago when the previous owner got fed up with constantly having to deal with our morons, and wanted to keep it going, which he has achieved
I believe that was pre Gallagher times, so tbf fair he did what he set out to do!
As I say not had any conversations on it, but if someone is serious about taking it forward, I will do!

I don't think the forum needs much in the way of admin or moderation, but (as I understand it) no new members can join without Admin's permission, so our membership is gradually shrinking, and no new (ie probably younger) members are joining. We are going the way of the Tory party!
I may regret this - but I think a fresh influx of members, especial younger ones, is badly needed.

Interactions with visiting fans would liven things up.
Imagine if Coventry and Ipswich supporters had been able to join and share local knowledge about the best pubs to visit, and worst crack dens to avoid.
But it might require occasional active moderation.

I propose Yorkshirestone as chief administrator as his posts are fewer and more considered. Believe me I can be far less circumspect from the terraces although I tend to be on my best behaviour when following the Stones as it's a rare chance to catch up with old friends  |

Part of the problem here is that younger supporters tend to prefer other platforms. Football club forums are a bit of a dying breed. I went on to Slough’s the other day and I think the most recent post was from 2021. |
