We don't score enough or threaten to score enough to be considered a promotion contender this season.
We have a long way to go to even be considered as a viable proposition for that status.

We have struggled against the bigger and more physical sides this season and Slough fall into that category!

We have struggled against the bigger and more physical sides this season and Slough fall into that category! And yet we cut through them a number of times and created enough decent chances to win two games. Aaron Blair is coming good and reminds me a lot of Jack Barham. But he can’t do it on his own. He needs another goal scorer to form a partnership with like Barham and Luque or further back in time, Collin and May.

I disagree. We threatened loads. Early in the early season could agree but we have turned a corner in that’s regard.

Blair is more like Rush for me, but either way he needs someone to work with. Current options like Bentley and Coulthurst haven't really proved themselves, while the Ludicrous experiment (literally) never got off the ground. However, at least we are now playing better.

He did well last season with finding unexpected forwards, but Ludicrous has shaken my faith in him a bit.

He wasn't even on the bench Saturday, despite us (apparently) being short of players. I think his days are numbered, if he hasn't gone already. I'm assuming he's on a monthly contract.

Matt Rush himself got another 5 minutes on Saturday. 65 minutes this season.

Everything that needs to be said has seemingly been said so just wanted to do an additional Aaron Blair appreciation post - he was unreal on Saturday. Missed a chance or two but you could not fault his effort and movement. I also thought of Jack Barham. He must be a nightmare for centre backs. Would love to see a big striker play alongside him.
Special mention for off the pitch too - before and after the game, anyone who wanted a handshake or photo I didn't see him turn down anyone. Smile on his face. Came up to the fans after running himself ragged for 90 mins, smiling and meeting everyone. What a guy!

Who was his partner last season at Braintree? Perhaps we could poach them?
