What the hell is going on ?
After years of indecision and uncertainty, the club finally 'took the bull by the horns' and created new segregation arrangements.
Finally after continuous lobbying by Stones supporters, we at last retook the Genco Stand.
First proper test was the match against Ebbsfleet. Then wait happens ?
CAPITULATION !

Tbh I was shocked to hear the club has turned the clock back.
It took so long to get to this point and now it turns out it was all for nothing.
What a let-down

I'd imagine the new set up is either not ready, or they want to test it in a more low key match before diving straight into a supposed grudge match.
It could well be under police advice.
Either way it's a non-issue.

Maybe a non issue for you woody, presumably you don't care either way.
Believe me, there are a lot of supporters who were looking forward to the changes.
I thought that at last the club had responded positively to all the feedback.
No announcement from the club as to why or whatever.
Some things never change.

So annoying.
The club is brilliant in so many ways, but not for the first time it seems to forget that supporters like to know what's going on.
There are probably very good reasons for this decision but a 'let's keep it to ourselves' mentality' goes down like a ton of bricks.
We can all guess why the decision to reinvite opposition supporters back into the Genco was taken, but that's all we can do, guess, or in Mr Woodstones case 'imagine'.
Funny way of not communicating with supporters.
Not exactly a non issue.

I'm with woody in thinking that 'maybe' the police have got into the act or 'maybe' the new segregation arrangements need tinkering, or 'maybe' Ebbsfleet will have too many in attendance for the newly created segregation area. Or 'maybe' it's for other reasons altogether.
Just a shade surprising that the club doesn't explain itself, although perhaps we shouldn't be so surprised.

It won't be just to annoy you. It's just a few possible reasons. Fair enough. There is a limit as to what a club can realistically or practically communicate. I think we all agree they are poor in this regard. We are not unworthy. Swordy will tell you we are not a consideration but I am sure there is good reason. |

The club has explained itself on the website. "Returning to the home and away sections, work to move the away section to the south-west corner of the ground is still on-going. This means that for next Saturday’s game, the segregation set-up remains at the Genco Stand, where away fans will be accommodated as in previous seasons. We apologise to our supporters for any inconvenience but this high profile match has come too early for us and it just wasn’t feasible to make the changes in time." Well spotted |
