Well I don't know about his fondness for the wet stuff, but he is probably not as old as you think. Pat Gallagher was born 1949 in Ballinamore, Ireland, and moved with his parent to Aylesford in 1966. From humble beginnings he's done rather well for himself. In fact not just for himself, as apart from employing over 500 local people, he has helped loads of local charities, sports clubs and community groups over the years. No idea if the family are interested in increasing their stake in the club (seems unlikely), but we could do a lot worse. I'd suggest it would be a departure from their tried and tested business. I could see them investing but not owning. I really hope Oliver and Terry do now separate the club and ground. That's a slippery slope. Any new owner/owners would want complete ownership of the stadium. No one is going to spend millions doing the ground up when they don't even own it. Any potential owners would see not owning the stadium as a problem that would stop any of their plans for progression. In years to come, If said new owner/owners were in a position to get us promoted to the EFL, I can't imagine Oliver or Terry would want the pitch ripped up and losing the income they would be making from it. Oliver & Terry still owning the stadium, why someone else owns the club is a non starter.

It would depend on the resources of a consortium. The present owners seek an exit strategy so that would ideally include the ground. Alternatively a shared ownership might allow an increased investment in the team plus minor improvements to the ground such as terracing along the river side. A "Genco" stand at the town end would be great but not necessary unless our gate is likely to double. We are most unlikely to do a Wrexham so the best we could expect from new owners is a boost.

Its quite probably complete rubbish but the 'rumour' I heard was that the consortium was looking for a stake in the club not a total buy out.
Maybe a wider 'shared ownership' ?

I think that would be many supporters’ preferred option. Terry and Oliver have been great for the club and some continuity wouldn’t be a bad thing.

The 'consortium' looking to buy a stake in the club which I heard about from a completely non-official source, is closer to home. Do I believe in it ? Yes and No !

To progress as a club we need new ownership who are willing to invest into the squad and infrastructure. Seems that after the success of last year we are now going backwards. Do we think that new ownership will happen by the end of the season?

Do we think that new ownership will happen by the end of the season? I shouldn't think so, Oliver and Terry will almost want something back from the club, whether it's the stadium or a cut of the 3g money, which will almost certainly delay or kill the purchase like it did with Manchett last year.

I was under the impression that the previous purchase failed because it was going to be funded by loans taken out against the club. Which obviously O & T could not support. If anyone really wants that sort of arrangement, I can recommend a whole bunch* of failed clubs they can support instead. *(as the kids say these days)

I was under the impression that the FA would not sanction Manchetts takeover because of his dodgy financial past,ie bankruptcy. Could be wrong but that is what I was told.

You do get some daft posts by people who should know better, but for some reason they pretend to know something they don't.
