Someone in Wetherspoons told me Paul Scally. Someone in Sainsbury's told me you spend far too much of your time in pubs!

The lack of any news from Mr Sword is disappointing. It means that the rumours that currently abound are a complete load of b's or that swordy is losing his touch. Both scenarios are cause for regret. I may well be losing my touch because my visits to the ground have been very few and far between of late therefore my abilities to wheedle information out of people have not been utilised. I will of course pass on any information that i do hear.

Someone in Wetherspoons told me Paul Scally. Paul Scally hates this club with a passion and also detests 3G pitches so i would be very surprised if he has anything to do with a takeover.

If he hates us that much he might buy the club to close it down!
Unless there is a consortium of business owners I cannot think of many Maidstone businesses wealthy enough to finance the club. Gallagher but he is a rugby man (although so is Oliver), Frobishers but he is cricket man. I don't know anything about our Total Engineering sponsor but it seems to be a cutting edge business.
Of course the offer may come from outside the area. Has anyone noticed ant American super stars or Arab princes at the ground?

The last time David Folb tried to take us over I asked that if he was successful in taking us over would he like to be buried or cremated,he has not been seen since. Folb is a bigger clown than Wheeler and God(if indeed he does exist)forbid that he takes over. We would become a laughing stock.

My particular source says it is "a consortium of business owners" I have no reason to disbelieve him and he's in a better position than me to be aware of any developments. Just another supporter but with better contacts. My instincts tell me that there is something to what he says. But if anything is going on, we can be sure the club will want a tight lid on it until it's sorted.

Not made up Benny, just speculative !
Stick with the syndicate concept as being the more likely.

I used to sweep 2 of Gallgher's workshops when I was 14/15 and he was old then him and my Dad were partners before they fell out and my Dad would have been 89 this year so f**k knows how old Paddy is.

Well I don't know about his fondness for the wet stuff, but he is probably not as old as you think.
Pat Gallagher was born 1949 in Ballinamore, Ireland, and moved with his parent to Aylesford in 1966.
From humble beginnings he's done rather well for himself.
In fact not just for himself, as apart from employing over 500 local people, he has helped loads of local charities, sports clubs and community groups over the years.
No idea if the family are interested in increasing their stake in the club (seems unlikely), but we could do a lot worse.

I could see them investing but not owning. I really hope Oliver and Terry do now separate the club and ground. That's a slippery slope.
