I thought Paps and Gurung looked a bit passive first half. Just watched the play in front of them. They got at us down the wings.
Blair was frustrating today. Had a few chances to get a decent shot away but didn’t quite get it right. Bentley was hard working and our best Player first half.
Brookes and Seaman pretty good. Both delivered 4 or 5 good crosses.
Andre quite quiet apart from the great save first half.
Thought you could feel the relief at the end

Will be interesting to see the highlights, because yet again the opposition seemed to have an extra player in the ref. The usual litany of Stones players getting clattered for no foul, but we breathe on them and it's an instant free kick. Good move to bring on Greenidge, because we were starting to struggle and he makes such a difference, not just in defence but all over the pitch. Plenty of effort, as usual, but much more creative and with a bit of luck, we might have got more. Good to see and hear the Genco getting behind them in the second half and only goes to show that, with the right approach, the crowd will get behind the team.

We said that it all changed when Greenidge came on, whether that was his influence or not he played very well in his short spell today

We were the better side, so 2-1 was a fair result. I didn't think either was a pen, but what do I know? (rhetorical). New man at the front was slow, confused and practically useless, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt (although I don't know why George kept him on for so long). New No 6 very impressive. Krasniqi looked very good - why didn't he start? Seaman looked absolutely shattered towards the end (why?) but still managed some nice passes. Brooks is a total hero. Trusty and Gurung are effectively the same player. Bentley had a good game, but, on his own, he is not the partner Blair needs - things looked better after Benton came on, but Blair still needs a partner who can regularly feed him, he doesn't have the pace to do it all on his own. I still have my doubts about Andre. The ref was an idiot - more cards in one game than we've had all season so far (I haven't checked this, but who cares?).
Overall, I enjoyed the game, although it was frustrating at times, and we won, which is basically all that matters in the Cup. There were some encouraging signs that the improvements we saw in the first 20 mins of the Chelmsford game and at Enfield, are continuing, but we still have a way to go. Now Greenidge is back, defence shouldn't be problem, and we have plenty of talent in midfield, but up front we still don't look convincing, and I am still worried about the goalie (did I mention that before?) But, had we had better opposition today, we probably wouldn't still be in the Cup. Hopefully, by the time the better teams do turn up, we'll be ready for them.

The life of a wing back. Arj didn’t start because Biv and Paps did. Having said that, I have a feeling we might not see Niveau start for a while. We have a lot of good midfielders. Two to come back, I’ll give the new striker another game!

One other thing - their No 17, Bunmi Babajide, apart from having one of the weirdest names I've seen in a while, was also by far their best player. And yet they took him off with 15 minutes still to go. He was their only real threat, once he went the game was effectively ours.

I was surprised when we kept him on (but happy for him). And I've been reasonably impressed with him since, but (unfortunately) there are many better players out there.

Really thought it was going to a replay.
Yes it’s churlish, and a goal from a penalty and corner are welcome, but the lack of goals from open play continues.
No idea what the reason is, but I’m sure George is working on it.

All I know is it’s getting impossible to predict the results these days and Stones are like Forrest Gumps box of chocolates. Im thankful this game is not in the prediction league as it could be anything from an Enfield fuelled 3-0 to Stones to a 0-3 to Hampton with a very dull and nervous 0-0 the most likely. Crowd could be anything from just under 2k due to previous home performances to nearly 3k hoping for a cup run like last year. Let’s just see. The crowd will be 2,000 +- 200 1,287. Surprised it was so low. Swordy would be bashing the Cocebtrunaway glory boys

But that's the problem with automatically counting ST holders - you can't judge cup crowds based on your feel for league attendance. Every league game starts with around 1,000 ST holders who are assumed to be there. Today, for instance there were gaps in the MS - which means fewer tickets sold, but in a league game, gaps in the MS just means ST holders haven't turned up - as far as MUFC are concerned, they are there in their seats.

youtube.com/watch?v=tk8_XNlWIgc&si=g2haHHi8aSBS9yo9An alternative view of the game and ground from 2 neutrals/ground hoppers. Interesting at the end of the vlog that they rate the overall experience at the G highly. Shame some of our own 'supprters' don't appreciate what we have.

It was a great victory and the rumbling sound of fear from the prem boys starts. The Stones are on the march

Highlights show the ref got it wrong for both penalties. Ours was (just) outside the area, theirs wasn't a foul at all - the player just fell over. Suspect the ref was looking to level things up after his first mistake, but do two wrongs make a right? See that it was Shaq who go the winner. No idea beforehand because couldn't hear the announcement while KoL couldn't be arsed to do a report either. The highlights don't paint a good picture of big Ludo. Arguable that James Alabi was more mobile and interested. Hopefully he will soon get better.
